Blondie Announce New Graphic Novel Against the Odd

Blondie have announced a new graphic novel called Against the Odds. It’s a collaboration with Z2 Comics that will illustrate the story of the iconic new-wave band’s rise in the New York art and fashion world. The book is Blondie’s first foray into the world of comics, but they’re the only newbies involved with the project. Against the Odds was illustrated by the acclaimed comic book artist John McCrea, and it was co-written by Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti — the duo who penned DC Comics’ relaunch of Harley Quinn. With vivid color, the book will chronicle the band’s come-up in Manhattan’s notorious punk and art world of the 1970s. Ozzy Osbourne, Megadeth, Ghost, More Highlight DC Comics’ “Dark Nights: Death Metal – Band Edition” Series

DC Comics’ has announced a series dubbed Dark Nights: Death Metal – Band Edition that will feature a different heavy metal act on each of its seven issues. The series will include Ozzy Osbourne, Megadeth, Ghost, Sepultura, Opeth, Dream Theater, and Lacuna Coil. The upcoming comic book releases will offer variant covers on DC’s 2020 Dark Nights: Death Metal series. Each issue will depict one of the acts on the cover, along with an introduction from the band and an exclusive interview. First Look: Preview the Rob Zombie-Helmed Chapter of Anthrax’s Among the Living Graphic Novel

In November, Anthrax announced the impending release of their own graphic novel, Among the Living, featuring a bevy of famous guest contributors. One of the chapters is being written by Rob Zombie, and we’re teaming up with Z2 Comics for an exclusive first look at five pages of artwork. The graphic novel chapters are inspired by the songs on Anthrax’s iconic 1987 album, Among the Living, with Zombie being joined by such guest writers as Slipknot’s Corey Taylor, My Chemical Romance’s Gerard and Mikey Way, Fall Out Boy’s Joe Trohman, comedian Brian Posehn, and more. Ronnie James Dio’s Holy Diver Album Inspires Upcoming Graphic Novel

The Dio album Holy Diver is one of metal’s most iconic LPs, not just for its music but for its striking album cover. Now, thanks to a new graphic novel from Z2 comics, fans will finally find out why a priest was seemingly hurled into the ocean by the demonic figure Murray. Z2 Comics has tapped horror writer Steve Niles to tell the story leading up to the dramatic illustration on the cover of Holy Diver. Niles (Criminal Macabre, 30 Days of Night, October Faction) is being paired up with artist Scott Hampton (Gotham County Line) for the 120-page graphic novel.
