Lagos to deliver Pen Cinema Bridge November
The Lagos State Government on Wednesday said it will complete and deliver the Pen Cinema Bridge by November, 2020. Special Adviser to the Governor on Works and Infrastructure, Mrs Aramide Adeyoye, made this known while rendering account of the activities of the Ministry in the last one year. “The construction of Pen Cinema flyover and access roads in Agege, currently at over 50% stage of work is scheduled for completion in November this year 2020. “On completion the flyover is expected to resolve the perennial traffic gridlock in Agege and its environs,” she said. Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has confirmed 27 new cases of Coronavirus with Manager of demolished Prodest Hotel, Eleme, listed among the latest cases. Rivers State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Paulinus Nsirim, who made the disclosure Sunday evening said the development validates the State Government’s proactive fight against COVID-19. Ebonyi coronavirus cases rise to 22 as four patients discharged
Four more COVID-19 patients in Ebonyi state were on Sunday discharged from the state isolation centre at Unity Square, Abakaliki, the state capital, bringing the total number of discharged patients in the pandemic to six. Meanwhile, the number of cases have risen from 13 to 22 in the state. A team from the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) witnessed the discharge of the four patients. Dr. Majinger Ibeneme, Pillar Head, Case Management of the NCDC in the state, said all the patients at the isolation centre were stable. Imo governor abolishes pensions, gratuities for former governors, speakers, deputies
Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has assented to a bill repealing the law that created pension allowances and gratuities for former governors, deputy governors, assembly speakers and deputy speakers. Signing the bill into law in Owerri on Friday, the governor noted that the erstwhile law runs contrary to the 1999 Constitution as amended, which stipulates that a pensioner must have worked for at least 10 years and must be up to 45 years of age. The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has announced the discharge of 13 more Coronavirus patients who recovered from the virus. The governor said those discharged included nine male and four female, all Nigerians. Oyo governor appoints retired general as Amotekun chairman
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has appointed retired general Ajibola Kunle Togun as the Chairman of the Oyo State Security Network, code-named Amotekun. A statement signed by Moses Alao, Special Assistant to Makinde on Print Media, also indicated that a retired colonel, Olayanju Olayinka, was appointed as the commandant of the security outfit.
