Olusola Oke: We’re not leaving APC
The consensus candidate of the Unity Group of the All Progressive Congress in Ondo State and the first runner up in the party governorship primary, Chief Olusola Oke, has said that himself and the group are not planning to leave the party but with some conditions. Speculation was rife that Oke was planning to defect to another party to contest for the October 10 governorship election after losing to governor Rotimi Akeredolu in the primary. Governor Bello: I’m ready for free, fair APC primary in Ondo
Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello has assured that the governorship primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State will be free and fair. Bello who is the chairman of the governorship primary election committee said he was prepared to ensure that the most popular aspirant emerge through credible process at the end of the exercise. He ruled out the possibility of bias and favourism bin the conduct of the exercise, stressing that his committee has no interest in any of the 12 aspirants. Ondo doctors withdraw services from infectious disease centre
The National Association of Government General Medical and Dental Practitioners (NAGGMDP) in Ondo State has directed its members to withdraw their services from the state’s Infectious Disease Centre with immediate effect. The association said the directive became imperative due to government’s failure to meet their demands. The union had last month withdrawn the services of its members working in the employ of the state government following government failure to accede to their demands. Ex-SSG: I’m not leaving APC, but won’t support Governor Akeredolu’s re-election
Former Secretary to the Ondo State Government, Honourable Ifedayo Abegunde, said he would not defect to another party and would also not support Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s reelection. Abegunde, who resigned his appointment today (Monday) said he would remain in the APC but support another governorship aspirant. He said that he would not be joining his friend the defected deputy governor Hon Agboola Ajayi in the opposition PDP as mist people in the state would want to believe.
