Mötley Crüe drummer and exhibitionist Tommy Lee is catching flak after asking concertgoers to expose their breasts and genitals at a show on Wednesday (September 7th) at Oracle Park in San Francisco. Lee’s recent affinity for whipping it out has overflowed into Mötley Crüe’s live show. After unabashedly posting a full-frontal nude selfie on his social media accounts in July, Lee made light of his unsolicited dick pic by pulling an actual dachshund out of his shorts at a Los Angeles concert late last month. The drummer also encouraged male and female fans to expose themselves at several shows, getting a number of audience members to oblige. As reported by the Bay Area’s ABC7, concertgoer Juan Alvarez attended the San Francisco concert with his sister and said it was “traumatizing” witnessin...
Tommy Lee really wants to keep showing his junk to the world, and doesn’t want anything getting in his way. At the final show of Mötley Crüe’s “Stadium Tour” at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Friday night (September 9th), the drummer revealed that he has joined OnlyFans — and he did so by mooning the audience. Last month, Lee posted a full frontal nude selfie on all his social sites. The “dick pic” was removed from Instagram and Facebook, but still remains on Twitter. The drummer later explained he was on a “bender” when he shared the photo online, but apparently he has no regrets about it. In fact he kept mentioning it at just about every Motley Crue show since, even telling a crowd at a Los Angeles show, “Let me show you my fuckin’ wiener” before jokingly pulling a real-life dachshund...
Behind the Boards is a new series where we spotlight some of the biggest producers in the industry and dig into some of their favorite projects. For the inaugural edition, we sit down with alternative rock-whisperer Butch Walker to hear about his work with Taylor Swift, Weezer, Green Day, and more. Producer and singer-songwriter Butch Walker has been actively working in the music world for over three decades, and has seen firsthand the way the music industry has shifted across that time period. The Georgia-born Walker got his start in the late ’80s with a glam metal band called SouthGang — when that band dissolved, Walker formed the power pop trio Marvelous 3 in the mid ’90s before becoming an in-demand producer, helming pop rock records with SR-71, Bowling For Soup, and Avril Lavigne in t...
Tommy Lee has explained the full-frontal nude selfie he shared across his social media accounts earlier this month. During Mötley Crüe’s show in San Antonio, Texas, on Sunday night (August 21st), the drummer disclosed that he was on a “bender” when he uploaded the headline-making photo. He also encouraged male audience members to “pull your fucking junk out.” The veteran rocker’s nude pic stayed up on Instagram and Facebook for several hours before being taken down, and still remains on his Twitter account more than 10 days since he first posted it on August 11th. Now, it appears that a drinking spree led Lee to share the explicit photo for all to see. “A couple of weeks ago, we had like a two-week break off the tour, and I went on a motherfucking bender, bro — a bender,” said Lee fro...
Shout at the devil? More like shout at the graphic designer. In a hilarious snafu, Amazon Prime has mistakenly used a photo of modern glam-metal satirists Steel Panther in the splash artwork for the 2020 Mötley Crüe documentary, Rock ‘n Roll Icon: Mötley Crüe. The latter’s logo is emblazoned over the wrong band. Even more bizarre, an actual picture of current-day Mötley Crüe can be seen in the top right, but it’s cutoff so you can’t see their faces. It appears a Steel Panther fan discovered the image, with frontman Michael Starr taking to Instagram to repost it. Adding further irony, Steel Panther are known for parodying ’80s glam metal bands like Mötley Crüe, which is the source of beef between Starr and Nikki Sixx. Hanoi Rocks guitarist Andy McCoy says he’s never received an apology from Mötley Crüe singer Vince Neil, whose infamous 1984 car crash resulted in the death of the band’s drummer, Nicholas “Razzle” Dingley. Neil was driving his car when he and Dingley went on a liquor run in Redondo Beach, California, in December 1984. On the way back, the Mötley Crüe vocalist crashed into another vehicle, killing Dingley and leaving both occupants of the other car with brain damage. Neil, who had a .17 blood-alcohol level, ended up spending 15 days in jail for the incident and was ordered to pay $2.6 million to the victims of the crash. McCoy, who set out that night with Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee to find Neil and Dingley when they didn’t return in a timely manner, tells Artists on Record Starring ADIK...

Tommy Lee surprised fans earlier this month at the kickoff show of Mötley Crüe’s current reunion tour when he exited his drum kit after five songs, telling the audience that he had recently broken four ribs. He’s only been playing three or four songs at each date, with Ozzy Osbourne drummer Tommy Clufetos taking over for the rest of the set each time. Now, we finally know how he broke those ribs leading up to the tour. Lee has been performing a few songs each night against doctor’s orders, with bandmate Nikki Sixx praising the drummer for his efforts. “The fact that Tommy was told by the doctor to not play with 4 broken ribs & he beasted [a portion of] our show is a miracle,” the bassist wrote in a since-deleted tweet. “We are a band and are proud of his strength. He is doing the whole...
It took Mötley Crüe six and a half years to return to the stage, but drummer Tommy Lee only lasted five songs during the band’s reunion tour kickoff in Atlanta on Thursday night (June 16th). Lee explained from the stage that he recently had broken his ribs and that he wouldn’t be able to continue the concert. In his place, Ozzy Osbourne drummer Tommy Clufetos stepped in to complete the gig. The fact that Clufetos was in the building likely meant that Lee probably knew he’d have a hard time finishing the set. According to Ultimate Classic Rock and fan video footage posted to Twitter (see below), Lee told the crowd, “We did it! You did it, we did it, we’re f**king here,” alluding to the fact that the Crüe’s co-headlining “Stadium Tour” with Def Leppard had finally kicked off after a two-year...
Arena rock is a genre of music that will never die, as long as crowds convene inside hockey arenas around the country to sing along to our favorite anthems from our favorite artists. That’s exactly what took place when Bon Jovi kicked off their 2022 tour in Omaha, NE at the CHI Health Center on Friday, April 1st, for their first public in-person concert since the pandemic started. Ione, a singer from Sioux City, IA, was the contest winner of the opening slot for the Omaha tour date. With a full backing band — two guitar players, a bassist, a drummer, and a keyboardist — Ione filled the arena with her soulful voice, reminding one of ‘70s singer-songwriters like Linda Ronstadt and Stevie Nicks. She emitted a free-spirited energy on stage, and captivated the audience with her pure, unadultera...

While many bands have pushed ahead with their scheduled 2021 tours (lots of which had already been rescheduled from 2020), Nikki Sixx is “so happy” that Mötley Crüe postponed their reunion tour once again. Now that COVID-19 cases are rising due to the Delta variant, the bassist said he’s “100%” satisfied with the band’s decision to wait another year. Other big rock bands like Guns N’ Roses and Foo Fighters have kicked off summer tours, but acts like Mötley Crüe, Rage Against the Machine, and Deftones have delayed their outings until 2022. Sixx is glad to be in the latter group of bands, taking to Instagram to share a graphic that reads: “I’m so happy we decided to not tour during this pandemic… 100%.” He added, “Not a hard decision to make when so many people’s lives are at risk. I MISS IT...
