Gina Carano to Star in Hunter Biden Biopic

Embattled actress Gina Carano is set to star in an upcoming biopic about President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter. Directed by Robert Davi, My Son Hunter will tell a story of “the absurd life and party lifestyle of Hunter Biden and the dodgy dealings of his father,” according to producer Phelim McAleer. Carano will portray a fictional female Secret Service agent tasked with narrating the film’s plot. Dynasty actor John James will play President Joe Biden, while British actor and failed 2021 London mayoral candidate, Laurence Fox, has been cast as Hunter Biden. Disney CEO Defends Gina Carano Firing, Says Company Stands for “Values of Inclusion”

Last month, The Manadalorian actress Gina Carano was fired by Lucasfilm for a series of abhorrent tweets, including one that compared being a Republican today to being a Jew during the holocaust. She quickly doubled-down and became an anti-cancel culture crusader. Now, Disney’s CEO has chimed in to defend her departure from the Star Wars TV series. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Walt Disney Co. CEO Bob Chapek was on a call during an annual shareholders meeting when someone asked him if Carano was on Disney’s “black list” for her openly conservative politics. Chapek responded with the type of corporate vagueness that you’d expect from a major entertainment executive, saying that he doesn’t see Disney as “left-leaning or right-leaning.” However, he did say that Disney st...

Daisy Ridley Responds to Ted Cruz: “I’m an Emotionally Tortured Jedi Who Doesn’t Leave Their State”

Out of all of the Star Wars’ characters to choose from, Ted Cruz recently declared Cara Dune was the one who broke the most barriers in the franchise’s galactic universe. Of course, this flawed but acceptable stance came only in the wake of Gina Carano’s firing from The Mandalorian, and in taking his position, Cruz decided to dig himself a hole of bias by dissing Rey Skywalker in the process. Now, Daisy Ridley has responded to him with the most perfect comeback. This all started on February 11th when Cruz weighed in on Disney booting Carano from The Mandalorian following a series of “abhorrent” social media posts, including Carano comparing being a Republican today to being Jewish during the Holocaust. Carano did not apologize for her statement but instead doubled down, saying, “They can’t...

Gina Carano Reacts to Mandalorian Firing: “They Can’t Cancel Us If We Don’t Let Them”

The Manadalorian actress Gina Carano has shared her first public statement since being let go by Lucasfilm earlier this week. Lucasfilm and Carano’s talent agency UTA cut ties with the actress following a series of abhorrent social media postings, including one in which she compared being a Republican today to being Jewish during the Holocaust. Carano, who also previously spread misinformation about voter fraud and mocked individuals who used preferred pronouns, unsurprisingly showed no semblance of contrition in her statement. In fact, she says she’s “only just begun using my voice which is now freer than ever before.” “I’m sending out a direct message of hope to everyone living in fear of cancellation by the totalitarian mob. I have only just begun using my voice which is now freer ...

Gina Carano Fired From The Mandalorian Following “Abhorrent” Social Media Posts

Lucasfilm has cut ties with The Mandalorian actress Gina Carano following a series of “abhorrent and unacceptable” social media postings. Carano had portrayed former Rebel Alliance soldier Cara Dune in the first two seasons of the widely popular Disney Plus series. She had emerged as a fan-favorite on the show, and Lucasfim had even considered a spinoff series starring Carano’s character, according to The Hollywood Reporter. However, in recent months Carano courted controversy for social media posts in which she spread misinformation about voter fraud and mask wearing. She also mocked individuals who used preferred pronouns on social media by listing “beep/bop/boop” in her Twitter bio. More recently, she came under fire for an Instagram post comparing being a ...

Does Mando Still Believe In the Creed? The Mandalorian, Explained

After the absolute barrage of announcements that came out of Disney’s Investor Day yesterday, including the confirmation that 10(!) new Star Wars properties are coming out in the next few years (two Mandalorian spinoffs among them), it feels almost quaint to check back in with what The Mandalorian is up to this week. And yet, Chapter 15, “The Believer”, written and directed by Rick Famuyiwa, reminds us why Disney has so much confidence in Star Wars as a brand and a franchise. The penultimate episode of the season can often be a lighter, more disposable affair, setting up chess pieces for a climactic showdown in the finale. Sure, this week does that in spades, but also manages to weave that among a few clever cinematic homages, an incredible return appearance from Bill Burr, ...

Boba Fett Returns! The Mandalorian, Explained

If The Mandalorian Season 2 were a feature film, this week’s episode, “The Tragedy”, would set us firmly in the mid-point — that moment where all is lost, doom befalls our heroes, and the audience wonders how they’re going to get out of this particular pickle. It’s one of the shorter episodes in the season at 33 minutes, but a lot goes down in that jam-packed half hour: Boba Fett! Baby Yoda The Child Grogu gets Jedi-napped! Of course, all these developments are packed tightly into an action-heavy chapter courtesy of director Robert Rodriguez, filled with nail-biting developments, shocking twists, and more than a few Easter eggs (as per usual). So let’s strap on our jetpacks and dive in. Again, it goes without saying that there are some major, major spoilers ahead. You must b...
