Now, in the game’s latest move, NBA superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo joins the fray. The Milwaukee Bucks’ two-time MVP joins other athletes such as LeBron James, Naomi Osaka and Patrick Mahomes in appearing as playable Outfits in Fortnite. Sony’s Dualsense Edge Controller Will Have a Shorter Operating Time Between Charges

The DualSense Edge is Sony’s new wireless controller for the Playstation 5, created to elevate players’ gameplay with its highly customizable controls. Spanning features that range from changeable back buttons and button mapping, adjustable trigger stops, tunable stick sensitivity, immersive adaptive triggers as well as an on-controller interface to adjust volume and other settings. In spite of all these new and exciting features the new controller offers, its slightly shorter operating time may seem like a downgrade at first glance. The Dualsense Edge offers only 5 to 10 hours per charge as opposed to the 12 to 15 hours of the original PS5 controller. This could be less concerning for pro and competitive gamers who prefer a wired connection over a wireless one. The new USB braided cable n...

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Neilson Barnard / Getty / Fortnite Epic Games, the studio that gave us arguably the most popular game in the world, Fortnite, pockets got a bit lighter. The FTC announced the epic (no pun intended) penalty on Monday, Dec.19, pointing out that it is the most significant penalty in the history of the regulatory commission. In response to the fine, Epic Games said, “No developer creates a game with the intention of ending up here.” So What Did Epic Games’ Do? According to th...

Pokémon and Magic: The Gathering (Accidentally) Meet on A Misprinted Nidoran ♂ Card

From 1998 to 2003, Wizards of the Coast was in charge of translating, producing and shipping out Pokémon cards. WotC also created (and still manufactures) Magic: The Gathering, so that means that there are a few Pokémon and Magic: The Gathering “crossovers” on the secondary market, one of which just came up for auction. Goldin Auctions is offering a German-language 1999 Nidoran ♂ card with a Magic: The Gathering back, a fusion of late ’90s goodness that’s perfect for any rare card collector. The Nidoran ♂ card was part of the Pokémon Trading Card Game’s base set, the first slate of Pokémon cards to be offered outside of Japan, meaning this misprinted iteration was likely created when Wizards first set their printing machines to create Pokémon cards — though the company began ...

A new PlayStation 5 console could be dropping in 2023. Sony VP Hideaki Nishino hinted to Famitsu that 2023 — the third year since the launch of the PS5 — will be a big year for the company, although he revealed that he could not talk about it during the time the interview was conducted. “We believe that cumulative sales will exceed 37 million units by the end of fiscal 2022, and that it will be a very important time for the platform as well,” he said. “I won’t be able to talk about specifics at this time, but I hope that you will look forward to next year (2023).” The current rumors surrounding the 2023 PS5 console claim that it will feature a detachable disc drive as a “PS5 Pro” version, especially when considering the fact that Sony released the PlayStation 4 Pro three years after it rel...

Epic Games, the video game developer behind popular titles including Fortnite and Fall Guys, agreed to pay a $520 million USD settlement over charges that said the company illegally stored information from children and scammed players into making unwanted purchases, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) announced on Monday. The figure comprises two separate penalty amounts from two cases. First, Epic will pay $275 million USD for its violations of federal law, the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act. Regulators accused the company of collecting personal data from children under the age of 13 who played Fortnite, without obtaining parental approval. Additionally, Epic forced parents to “jump through hoops” in order to delete their children’s personal information, and the company alle...
