The project benefits Friends of Firefighters. Running from 1999 to 2007, the story of Tony Soprano’s family, co-workers, and shrink redefined prestige television and raised expectations for the entire medium. While the don himself James Gandolfini unfortunately passed away in 2013, some of the show’s biggest names will return for the fundraiser, including Edie Falco, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Robert Iler, Michael Imperioli, Drea de Matteo, Steven Van Zandt, Maureen Van Zandt,...

Fundraiser for Borat 2 Babysitter Raises Over $80,000

By and large, the job of Sacha Baron Cohen in Borat Subsequent Moviefilm is to dupe people into revealing how terrible they really are. Just ask Rudy Giuliani. But not everyone in the new film comes off as a villain; in fact, audiences loved 62-year-old babysitter Jeanise Jones so much that they’ve raised over $80,000 for her in a fundraiser set up by her pastor. Jones is featured in a segment where she serves as babysitter to Borat’s daughter, Tutar Sagdiyev (Bulgarian actress Maria Bakalova). Shocked by the sexist and misogynistic beliefs to which the supposedly teenage girl adheres, Jones does her best to lift the veil on the lies. In one scene, Jones reads Tutar her favorite story about a girl who got swallowed by her own “vagine” because she tried to touch herself. In another, she exp...

Alright, alright, alright! The cast of Dazed and Confused is reuniting as part of a “get-out-the-vote” fundraiser in Texas. Donald Trump may be currently indisposed due to an unnecessary super spreader event (and perhaps a bit of bad karma), but the 2020 Election still appears to be on track. To ensure voters in the Lone Star state get to the polls November 3rd, original cast members like Matthew McConaughey, Ben Affleck, and Parker Posey will reconvene on October 11th for a one-time virtual table reading of Richard Linklater’s classic 1993 film. Actors Joey Lauren Adams, Jason London, Adam Goldberg, Anthony Rapp, Rory Cochrane, and Marissa Ribisi are also expected to participate, as will Cole Hauser, Esteban Powell, Deena Martin, Christine Harnos, and Wiley Wiggins, among others.
