Ademola Lookman needs to learn from his penalty miss – Fulham boss

Fulham manager Scott Parker says he’s disappointed after Ademola Lookman missed a glorious opportunity that would have earned his side a point on Saturday. Fulham went down to West Ham 1 – 0, but the result would have been different had Lookman converted the last gasp penalty awarded to Fulham. The on loan striker from RB Leipzig fluffed the chance when his poor attempted Panenka went straight to the arms of Lukas Fabianski. Parker said he’s angry and disappointed that Lookman failed to convert the chance, but admitted must learn from his mistakes quickly and move on. “My emotions are one of disappointment, anger a little bit. He’s a young player and when you are young you make mistakes. And you need to learn from them. That’s where Ade is tonight. “Anyone can miss a penalty but if you dec...

Ola Aina thrilled to score first Premier League goal

Ola Aina says he feels special after scoring his maiden Premier League goal in Fulham’s 2-0 home win against West Bromwich Albion on Monday. Aina scored Fulham’s second goal of the game, thunderous left-footed strike into the top corner, to help the hosts on their way to a comfortable win over the Baggies. “It is always special getting your first Premier League goal,” he said. “It has been a long time since I made my League debut,” Aina told Standard Sport. “I am just glad that the goal came and I was able to help the team with it. “It is a dream to play in the Premier League and score, and get games in the Premier League. When I left Chelsea, it was kick-starting a career for myself. “I always wanted to come back and play in the Premier League. I am just happy that I am making it a realit...

Report: Manchester United want £20m for Phil Jones

Manchester United will demand a fee in the region of £20m for defender Phil Jones, according to reports from The Sun. Jones has a contract at the club till 2023, but he could be looking to leave the club as early as in January. The former Blackburn Rovers defender has struggled with fitness in recent seasons and managed only eight games in the past 12 months. He is on £75k-per-week wages and is secured financially. However, a decline in form and fitness means he is currently not in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first-team plans. However, the Red Devils are still demanding £20m for Jones. Should Jones leave the club?  Jones, who was signed by Sir Alex Ferguson in 2011, has not played a single game for the club since January. He has dropped down the pecking order at the club beh...

The Cottagers signed two new centre-backs in Tosin Adarabioyo and Joachim Andersen (on loan) before the international transfer deadline and they are now set to bolster the department further. Report: Fulham fancied to sign Dutch defender ahead of Sheffield United

Fulham are in advanced talks to sign defender Terence Kongolo from Huddersfield Town, a report from Football Insider claims. The Cottagers have made a disappointing start on their top-flight return and they have failed to register a single point from the first four games of the season. The central defence has been a weakness for them, but they managed to bolster their options with the arrivals of Joachim Andersen (loan) and Tosin Adarabioyo before the international transfer deadline. Still, they appear to be eyeing further reinforcement at the heart of the backline and it is reported that they are close to landing the signature of Kongolo from the Terriers. Earlier this month, it was claimed that Sheffield United were leading the hunt for the Dutchman, who could fill the void lef...

West Ham and Manchester United biggest losers in 2020 Premier League transfer window

The Premier League transfer window for international deals concluded at 11 pm last night and a number of clubs were able to land their desired targets before the deadline. However, there was plenty of disappointment for some teams. A few failed to make any noticeable improvement to their squads while others had to settle for different signings than those initially desired. There is still a domestic transfer window open until October 16 whereby the top-flight clubs can trade players with EFL sides. Still, that may not entirely shrug off the disappointment of the supporters of some teams. Let’s have a look at the losers of the Premier League summer transfer window. West Ham United The Hammers experienced a difficult international transfer window and they ended up making just one new addition...

Report: Fulham hoping to convince Everton target to join them on a permanent deal

Fulham are hoping to convince Jean-Clair Todibo to join them on a permanent basis from Barcelona before the international transfer window closes on Monday, Fabrizio Romano reports. The centre-back is free to leave the Blaugrana before the transfer deadline and of late, it has emerged that Premier League side Everton are leading the race to sign him on a season-long loan. However, the Catalan giants are said to prefer a permanent sale instead as they aim to recoup funds which could help them sign Eric Garcia from Manchester City in the next couple of days. As things stand, the Cottagers are lagging behind the Toffees’ in the player’s pursuit, but Romano reports that the west London outfit are hopeful of securing the defender’s signature on a long-term deal. Meanwhile, Sampdoria’s Omar Colle...

Report: West Ham want 24-yr-old La Liga ace, but face competition from Fulham

West Ham are interested in signing the Valencia defender Mouctar Diakhaby. The Hammers have been linked with quite a few defenders this summer and it will be interesting to see if they come forward with a concrete offer for Diakhaby in the coming hours. With just three days left in the window, West Ham will have to act quickly if they want to sign him. As per Super Deporte, Fulham are keen on signing the defender as well and remains to be seen where the player ends up eventually. Both clubs need defensive quality and Diakhaby would be a superb signing for them. West Ham are probably a better project and they have a greater chance of staying in the Premier League at the end of this season. Therefore, the player could be tempted to snub Fulham. Apparently, Valencia are looking for a fee of a...

Report: Fulham keen on £150k-a-wk Hammers target but there is a catch

According to The Daily Telegraph, Fulham are interested in signing Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek on a season-long loan, but any move may depend on whether or not they can sign defenders on permanent deals. Blues boss Frank Lampard is open to letting him leave temporarily before the transfer window shuts, but his options may be limited. West Ham United are also keen on the England international, and are among a number of clubs that have shown a strong interest, but they have been scared by his £150,000-a-week wages and injury record. While Lampard has insisted that Loftus-Cheek is as “fit as a fiddle”, the Hammers have reservations. The 24-year-old needs to play regularly this term to have a chance of forcing his way into manager Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions squad ahead of next su...

Report: Everton now leading the race to sign £18m star…despite interest from PL rival

Everton are leading the race to sign Jean-Clair Todibo, according to reports from Le 10 Sport.  A host of clubs including Napoli and Fulham have shown interest in Todibo. But it seems the Toffees are leading the way for his signature. Todibo has been made available to loan by Barcelona, and it seems that Everton are pushing hard to secure his signature before the end of the transfer window. This has been an excellent transfer window for the Toffees, with Carlo Ancelotti bolstering the midfield with the signings of Allan, James Rodriguez, and Abdoulaye Doucoure. Everton have still not brought in the centre-back they badly need. They were heavily linked with Gabriel this summer but the Brazilian joined Arsenal instead. The Toffees were interested to sign Fikayo Tomori, but he ...

Parker gets full backing of Fulham board despite poor performance

The Fulham manager has retained the full backing of his bosses despite starting the season poorly with three straight losses.  After the humbling defeat to Aston Villa on Monday night, Cottagers owner Tony Khan took to Twitter to apologise publicly for his team’s performance but also promised to bring in new additions before the transfer deadline.  Khan revealed in his tweet that they had missed out on five of their targets, with claims that two had tested positive for coronavirus during transfer talks. But there are possibilities that the Cottagers could renew their interest in those targets should they recover in time. I apologize to @FulhamFC supporters for our performance tonight. We’ve looked to add centre-backs since Wembley, I’m sorry we haven’t yet as 2 got COVID + we los...
