Hugo Broos takes over as Bafana Bafana manager

Broos, a Belgian football coach, had previously managed the Cameroonian senior men’s national football team and is expected in the Rainbow Nation next week. Upon his arrival, Broos is scheduled to meet all football stakeholders including members of the media and address the Press. Sports minister hails NFF president on FIFA election

Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, has congratulated NFF president, Amaju Pinnick, on his election into the FIFA council. Dare said this in a statement by his Special Adviser (Media), John Joshua-Akanji, on Friday in Abuja. Pinnick was elected into the FIFA council on Friday at the CAF 43rd general meeting in Rabat, Morocco, winning by 43 votes to his opponent’s eight votes. Dare described the victory as an opportunity for Nigeria and indeed Africa to contribute to the administration of world football. Katsina United coach urges NFF to make age-grade teams home-based specific

Katsina United coach Henry Makinwa has also joined voices with current Plateau United coach Abdul Maikaba in urging the NFF to make the age-grade national teams home-based specific. Makinwa joined his voice with other football stakeholders in the country to urge the NFF to make the age-grade football teams home-based specific. Speaking, Makinwa noted that getting foreign-based for the U17 is totally absurd as the age-grade teams shouldn’t be stuffed with foreign-based players who aren’t really exceptional. “The nucleus of the team should be for players at home, I think the NFF should tell the coaches that will handle any of the age-grade national teams to consider this,’ he said.
