Firefly Music Festival Organizers Announce 2023 Cancellation
After celebrating its 10th anniversary last month, Firefly Music Festival will not return in 2023. The famed Delaware festival will not move forward in 2023 in order to “take a year to recharge our lights,” according to a statement released by its organizers. The announcement did say the fest will return in 2024. Since its inaugural event in 2012, Firefly has remained a staple in the Northeast music festival scene. The festival became so successful that it was ultimately acquired by AEG, the entertainment giant who runs Coachella, in 2018. After a massive outing last year, Firefly Music Festival is looking to continue its hot streak with a supercharged 2022 lineup. Organizers have announced the official lineup for the four-day fest, scheduled for September 22-25. Featuring artists across electronic, hip-hop, emo, pop and beyond, the festival—like previous years—is markedly multi-genre and can be enjoyed by fans of almost any type of music. Headlining Firefly 2022 are Halsey, My Chemical Romance, Green Day, and Dua Lipa, followed by electronic music superstars Porter Robinson and Zedd, among others. Dover’s beloved Firefly Music Festival has announced a massive lineup for its momentous 2021 return this fall. Many elite electronic music artists have been tapped for the four-day fest, which is slated for September 23rd to 26th at The Woodlands of Dover International Speedway. Scheduled to perform are Madeon, REZZ, Duke Dumont, Big Wild, SOFI TUKKER, Chris Lake, and CloZee, among many others. They will join headliners Billie Eilish, The Killers, Tame Impala, and Lizzo.
