This Sunday, Kanye West will take center stage at Rolling Loud Miami, a source close to the situation tells Billboard. On Tuesday, long-term collaborator Consequence went on social media and posted a sketch of Kanye’s possible stage design for his performance at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami this weekend. “DONDA Experience Rolling Loud Miami, FL 07.25.21 Via KW Summer ’21,” read the now-deleted caption from Cons. The drawing featured a pyramid design, which could allude to West’s stage setup. Sunday’s concert will also mark West’s first festival appearance since 2019’s Sunday Service at Coachella. The pandemic crushed the best-laid plans for Splendour in the Grass last year, and, with more than half Australia’s population currently under lockdown, a late July 2021 show was a non-starter. So organizers hatched a bold plan. Splendour XR’s architecture was drawn up at the dawn of the health crisis. Since then, Splendour co-founder Jessica Ducrou and her teammates have regularly worked 12-plus hours each day, building an immersive, pandemic-proof space. “It has been a huge project,” she tells Billboard. “In many ways, it’s been more challenging than a real-life festival. I haven’t worked as hard ever on a project.” The hard work shows. On July 24 and 25, more than 50 international and local acts perform across stages in seven precincts, including headliners Khalid and ...
Farm Aid’s mission is to build a strong, family-farm-centered system of agriculture in America. Since 1985, with the support of artists who contribute their performances, the organization has raised more than $60 million to support programs that help family farmers thrive and expand the markets for their food. “Live performances by artists who are passionate about agriculture and good food are the deep roots that sustain Farm Aid’s year-round work for family farmers,” says Farm Aid executive director Carolyn Mugar. More than a concert, the Farm Aid festival is an annual gathering place for activists involved in the Good Food Movement and related concerns with the environment and social justice. Attendees in Hartford will have access to Homegrown Concessions, Farm Aid’s trademarked menu of ...
The latest Chaffee County Public Health Order limits outdoor events to 2,000 people. Seven Peaks regularly hosts 5,000 fans. The Chaffee County Board of Health re-evaluates the capacity limitations on a monthly basis, which means the health order could be amended between now and the festival’s launch in September. “It cannot be overstated how much time, thought, effort and energy has gone into gearing up for the festival this year. I want to thank my team for their work, the artists for their trust, and above all our fans, who look forward to this event all year long,” Bentley’s statement continued. Billboard reached out to representatives from Seven Peaks and Bentley but have not heard back as of publication. Seven Peaks’ cancellation closely...
In a survey of nearly 9,000 respondents conducted by EDM.com, dance music fans appear to be divided on their future concert plans for the rest of 2021. Despite lingering hardships related to the pandemic it seems hard to believe that 2021 is nearly halfway over. Amid a successful vaccination campaign, large-scale events are starting to return. For dance music specifically, festivals such as Sunset Music Festival and Forbidden Kingdom have led the charge welcoming back festival-goers by the thousands. While the aftermath of those festivals paints a rosy picture of unshakably high demand for concerts and festivals, there seems to be a substantive part of the population that is a bit hesitant, or in the very least, plans to be more selective about what they will attend in the near term....
