Lollapalooza 2022 day two went down on Friday, July 29th, and we’ve got the photos to prove it. The Chicago festival brought a ton of top tier talent to Grant Park, from headliner Dua Lipa to rising stars like Genesis Owusu and The Regrettes. The day also brought strong sets from indie pop favorites like King Princess and MUNA, hip-hop both classic (Don Toliver) and alternative (Genesis Owusu), and even former Artists of the Month like Wet Leg. Lollapalooza is expanding its global footprint to South Asia with the announcement of Lollapalooza India. The two-day event is scheduled to take place January 28th-29th, 2023 in Mumbai. It will be produced by William Morris Endeavor Entertainment, C3 Presents, and BookMyShow. Kanye West has pulled out of Miami’s Rolling Loud just days ahead of the festival’s launch. In his place, organizers have booked Kid Cudi. The reason for West’s departure was not made disclosed, but he previously dropped off this year’s Coachella lineup. In a statement, Rolling Loud’s organizers said, “We were looking forward to Ye headlining Rolling Loud Miami 2022. We spent months working with him and his team on the performance. Unfortunately, Ye has decided that he will no longer be performing. Drake has announced a new three-day festival called October World Weekend, which will see the likes of Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Lil Baby, and Chris Brown take over his hometown of Toronto on July 28th, July 29th, and August 1st. On Thursday, July 28th, All Canadian All Stars are slated to perform at the Toronto venue HISTORY. The following night will see Chris Brown and Lil Baby headline the Budweiser Stage. Brandi Carlile’s Girls Just Wanna Weekend festival will return to the Hard Rock Hotel in Riviera Maya, Mexico next year. Set for January 9th through 13th, 2023, the fourth installment of the women-fronted destination concert will feature Maren Morris, Sara Bareilles, Wynonna Judd, and more. Day N Vegas 2022 has been cancelled, organizers Goldenvoice announced on social media. The third annual event was set to take place September 2nd through 4th, and be headlined by SZA, J. Cole, and Travis Scott, who would have made his first festival appearance since the tragedy at Astroworld in November of 2021. “We’re sorry to announce that a combination of logistics, timing, and production issues have forced us to cancel Day N Vegas for 2022,” Goldenvoice’s statement read. “The refund process will begin immediately, and funds will appear back to your account within the next 2-4 weeks.
