Coachella 2022: The 6 Toughest Set Time Conflicts

Coachella’s organizers have undoubtedly been busy: in a season marred with last minute cancellations, controversies, and inevitable left turns, Paul Tollett and Goldenvoice have definitely been putting in some overtime hours. Hence, one of the latest schedule drops in the festival’s history — nearly 24 hours before the festival begins, to be exact. Such a late set time release means there’s even less time to make decisions about who to see, especially given the festival’s conflict-heavy time table. There are some traditional surprises with the schedule drop — Ari Lennox has moved her set to Friday and J.I.D.’s set will go down on Saturday, for instance — but no surprise is more intriguing than the news that Arcade Fire will be performing a special set in the Mojave Tent at 6:45 p.m. (siden...

2022 Welcome to Rockville Festival Taps Nine Inch Nails to Replace Foo Fighters as Sunday Headliner

Following the tragic death of drummer Taylor Hawkins, Foo Fighters canceled all of their scheduled 2022 tour dates. One of those dates was a headlining gig at the upcoming Welcome to Rockville festival in Daytona Beach, Florida. Today (April 6th), organizers announced that Nine Inch Nails will replace Foo Fighters on the Sunday (May 22nd) lineup of the four-day fest. It’s the second such announcement of the day, as Boston Calling revealed this morning that NIN would be filling in for Foo Fighters on the first night (May 27th) of its three-day lineup. The addition of Nine Inch Nails creates a triumvirate of early ’90s alt-rock legends at the top of Welcome to Rockville’s Sunday bill, with The Smashing Pumpkins and Jane’s Addiction playing right before NIN. The announcement of the 2022 lineup comes shortly after the staging of the 2021 Welcome to Rockville fest, which was pushed from its normal spring schedule to November due to the COVID-19 pandemic. That event was a rousing success, featuring a four-day attendance of 161,000. Related Video Thursday (May 19th) will find KISS headlining in th...

Welcome to Rockville 2022 Headliners: Guns N’ Roses, Foo Fighters, KISS, and Korn

This year’s Welcome to Rockville festival is taking place right now, but organizers have just revealed the headliners for the 2022 edition. The Daytona Beach, Florida, event will return to its usual spring slot next year, with Guns N’ Roses, Foo Fighters, KISS, and Korn topping the bill. Last night (November 12th), during the second day of this year’s four-day fest, promoter Danny Wimmer Presents broke the news of the 2022 headliners via the Welcome to Rockville social media channels. GN’R, Foo Fighters, and KISS are all Rock & Roll Hall of Fame acts, with the Foos having just been inducted, while Korn are a pioneering band that helped spearhead an entire new genre known as nu-metal. Since this year’s Welcome to Rockville was moved to November due to the pandemic, it means fans won’t h...

Billie Eilish Assumes Her Role as Pop Icon at Governors Ball 2021

Billie Eilish was only 16 years old the last time she played Governors Ball back in 2018, but she still felt like it was something different. “It was my favorite show I’d ever done,” she told the crowd on Friday night (September 24th) as she headlined Day 1 of Gov Ball, which has relocated to Citi Field from Randall’s Island, “And this might be that the second time.” A Billie Eilish show in 2021 is certainly a marquee event, and last night’s crowd knew that very well — thousands of fans showed up to cheer on one of the biggest stars in the world and experience live music again. Regardless of where you were situated in the crowd, you could physically hear the army of fans singing Eilish’s words back to her, almost louder than she even expected. 10 Best Governors Ball Performances of All Time: Watch

The Governors Ball Music Festival is set to return next month. Like most festivals, last year’s event, colloquially referred to as Gov Ball, was forced to cancel due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Although there has been some concern regarding the recent upsurge in cases in the wake of new COVID variants, the success and relative safety of last month’s Lollapalooza all but solidifies the New York City festival’s return. Adding to the hype is the fact that 2021 marks the festival’s 10th anniversary. Since debuting in 2011, Gov Ball has quickly become one of the nation’s most talked about festivals, known for drawing in a wide array of artists spanning multiple generations and genres. Over the years, the Gov Ball demographic has shifted to a primarily younger crowd, so it makes sense that this ye...
