In tandem with the release today (May 6) of its new album, We, Arcade Fire has announced a fall world tour with support from Feist in Europe and Beck (playing an acoustic set) in North America. The band is also making its previously announced fifth appearance as the musical guest on NBC’s Saturday Night Live tomorrow. The European leg begins Aug. 30 in Dublin and runs through Oct. 1 in Warsaw. The North American portion kicks off Oct. 28 in Washington, D.C. and wraps Dec. in Toronto. Dave Matthews, Haim, Brandon Boyd of Incubus and 37 other artists will pay tribute to Yusuf/Cat Stevens with live performances this week. The CatSong Festival will honor the 50th anniversary of his 1970 albums Tea for the Tillerman and Mona Bone Jakon. “It’s great to see and hear these covers of my songs given new life,” Yusuf said in a statement. “There’s no better honor for a songwriter than to have his songs performed by talented musicians with such love and sincerity.
