Governor Akeredolu cautions Ondo PDP on violence
Ondo State Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has cautioned the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) against further deployment of violence and thuggery in the state. Akeredolu stated the violence and thuggery that characterised the primary of the PDP where parts of the venue, the Dome, were destroyed would no longer be tolerated He said his administration was disturbed and appealed to the PDP to exercise restraint in deploying violence. The Governor said he would not hesitate to deploy the full weight of the law in order to protect Ondo citizens. DPR seals off 15 illegal gas outlets in Kogi
The Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR, on Thursday moved heavily against persons dealing illegally in the sales of domestic gas in Kogi State, sealing off 15 retail gas outlets in the process. The operators of the outlets were subsequently arrested and handed over to men of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence, NSCDC who were part of the special committee set up to go round the Lokoja metropolis. Speaking during the raid, the Chief operating officer, Idris Mohammed said that the raid became necessary in view of the proliferation of retail outlets sited in a residential areas, which run contrary to the safety rules laid down by the DPR. That is according to a statement issued by Lusaka after the chat that reportedly took place on Monday. “President Lungu called for debt relief and cancellation in light of reduced revenue due to the negative impact of the pandemic, as well as competing needs for the country to secure adequate resources to fight the pandemic and to stimulate the economy,” said a statement issued by Spokesman Isaac Chipampe.
