When nature calls: why going to the toilet in the outdoors may be about to change

Burying your waste may no longer be the most sustainable way to go to the toilet in the outdoors, according to new research The number of people using public lands in the US has been steadily increasing for years. The pandemic accelerated the trend as lockdown-weary Americans flocked to outdoor spaces in record numbers. The increase in visitors saw several parks and landmarks introduce reservation systems to counteract the unsustainable rise in visitor numbers. From 2019 to 2021, a study found that there was an increase of 8.1 million hikers and 7.9 million campers in the US. In 2021, the National Park System (NPS) announced that 44 US national parks had set new records for recreational visits that year. Numbers across the NPS are forecast to rise even further in 2022 as international...

Russian tax authority proposes to use bitcoin for international payments

The Russian Federal Tax Office (RFB) has come forward with a surprising idea in the crypto law debate in Russia. It could be a way to neutralize sanctions from the West. Should the proposal make it to the finish line, it would mean a significant change in Russia’s price on crypto. Ethereum worth more than Turkish lira and Norwegian krone

A little over two weeks ago, I wrote about the value of ETH versus fiat money, with an emphasis on the Russian ruble. ETH is up 35% during this period, so a good time to look back. Ethereum in 27th place As can be seen from Coinmarketcap’s data, Ethereum is ranked number 27 by market value. This is 13 spots below bitcoin, which has not moved a single spot in the same time period. Ethereum is four spots higher than two weeks ago. Ethereum is under the Polish zloty, which is still number 26. But ETH has gained territory against the Chilean peso, the Norwegian krone and the Turkish lira. These fiat currencies are now worth less than Ethereum, and that is a big win. Russian ruble is crawling back up  In total, there are 101 currencies on Coinmarketcap’s list, with Bitcoin bein...
