Carlo Ancelotti outlines where his Everton side must improve

Carlo Ancelotti has outlined where his Everton players must improve while also emphasising that he must continue to improve as a manager. Everton have impressed under the Italian manager this season and are well placed in the race for the top six with a game in hand over many of their rivals. However, the Toffees have stumbled somewhat in recent weeks. Having been on a run of three straight wins, they were beaten by Chelsea at the beginning of March before being stunned by Burnley in their last fixture before the international break. Both performances were poor, and with games against Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, West Ham United and Aston Villa to come, there is an urgent need to turn around their fortunes. Ancelotti has now outlined where Everton need to improve, with a particular emphasis...

Everton reportedly willing to cash in on Colombian to fund Koulibaly move

Everton are willing to sell defender Yerry Mina to fund a move for Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly, according to Football Insider. The Toffees were linked with a move for Koulibaly last week, which came as a surprise to many Everton fans. With Yerry Mina, Michael Keane, Ben Godfrey and Mason Holgate in the squad, it made little sense for Everton to target a central defender. The Toffees will also have promising youngster Jarrad Branthwaite returning from his loan spell with Blackburn Rovers this summer. However, Football Insider now report that Yerry Mina could be sacrificed to sign Koulibaly due to his erratic nature. They claim that Carlo Ancelotti ‘admires Mina physically’ but privately believes he is ‘too erratic and error-prone for a top-tier side’. As a result, Everton coul...

Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot is expected to be on Everton’s shortlist for a new right-back this summer, according to the Liverpool Echo.  Dalot, currently on loan at AC Milan, was unable to cement himself in the first eleven among his arrival at Old Trafford. The Portuguese defender featured 25 times across all competitions in his first season at United but only made 11 appearances in the 2019/20 season with Aaron Wan-Bissaka joining the Red Devils that season. Dalot then moved to AC Milan on loan last summer and has made 24 appearances for the Rossoneri this season. However, it could have been very different for the player. Everton’s ‘forgotten man’ could be the answer to their midfield problems

While Jean-Philippe Gbamin has become almost the forgotten man at Everton, there are plenty of reasons for fans to be excited about his return. Gbamin signed for Everton in the summer of 2018 from Mainz for a fee in the region of £25 million but has racked up just two appearances for the club in that time. Despite showing promising signs in his first two games against Crystal Palace and Watford, Gbamin suffered an injury that would keep him out of action for most of the 2019/20 season. Following that lay-off, Gbamin returned to training, with fans excited to see him in action again. That excitement soon turned into despair, with Gbamin suffering yet another long-term injury in May 2020 that currently has him on the sidelines. However, Carlo Ancelotti has recently suggested t...

The Norwegian joined Everton on a short-term deal from Bournemouth in the January transfer window, with the potential to earn himself a long-term deal if he can impress by the summer. However, King has struggled to make any form of an impact since signing with the Toffees. The forward has featured in just eight games so far, racking up just 117 minutes of action and failing to challenge Dominic Calvert-Lewin for a starting spot in attack. The launch of the Premier League in 1992 sparked a wave of hype that has continued apace since then.
