Editor’s Note [August 20th, 2022, 7:27pm]: This report has been updated to include a statement from a representative of the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, who, when reached for comment, was unable to confirm whether or not the suspect was planning a mass shooting. Mass Shooting Threat Averted at Excision’s Bass Canyon Music Festival: Report
According to an unsettling report by local authorities, it appears a mass shooting was thwarted on the first night of this year’s Bass Canyon, an electronic music festival in Washington that attracts roughly 25,000 people. Jonathan R. Moody, a 30-year-old man from Ephrata, was reportedly spotted in the parking lot outside the festival grounds at 9pm on Friday night inhaling an “unknown substance” from a balloon before loading and concealing two 9mm pistols around his waist. Later, Moody is said to have approached Bass Canyon attendees to inquire when the festival would end and where people would exit. For the first time since 2019, Ultra is returning to South Korea. Coming soon to Seoul is the ninth edition of the Ultra Korea EDM festival. After being forced to put the event on hold due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, organizers have now revealed the first phase of artists who will be taking the stage. Marshmello, Martin Garrix, Nicole Moudaber, Adam Beyer, KSHMR, Nicky Romero, Oliver Heldens, Sasha and Timmy Trumpet will dazzle the masses at this fall’s fest. There’s a Brand New Halloween EDM Festival Coming to Chicago
The city of Chicago is creepin’ it real after the reveal of a brand new electronic dance music festival, Necropolis. Scheduled for October 29th and 30th, the Halloween-themed fest comes courtesy of Auris Presents, a leading Chicago promoter responsible for ARC and Heatwave, among other major EDM events in the Windy City.
