At last, you can get sentient food with Amazon Prime: Prime Video has ordered Sausage Party: Foodtopia, a sequel series to Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s 2016 animated film. Returning from the R-rated original are Seth Rogen, who played Frank, Kristen Wiig (Brenda), Michael Cera (Berry), David Krumholtz (Kareem Abdul Lavash), and Edward Norton (Sammy Bagel Jr.). Foodtopia has also added the talents of Will Forte, Sam Richardson, Natasha Rothwell, and Yassir Lester. The limited series will run eight episodes, and production is ongoing. Two years ago, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg launched their mid-century modern cannabis line, Houseplant, in their native Canada. Now, the brand is officially crossing the border, as it will soon be available in the United States. Well, at least one part of the US. California residents will soon be able to purchase the company’s three strains of marijuana flower — indica, sativa, and hybrid — via the to-be-launched Houseplant website. Each varietal is named after weather patterns, like the 33% THC (that’s a lot!) sativa strain Pancake Ice. No word yet on when or if the brand’s pre-rolled joints, soft-gel capsules, and two flavors of carbonated beverage (grapefruit and lemon) will follow suit. Amazon Prime has announced the Season 2 premiere of The Boys. The superhero deconstruction from Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and Eric Kripke returns September 4th with three new episodes. Future episodes will then be released weekly through October 9th. The release date was announced during a virtual reunion of the show’s cast hosted by Patton Oswalt, who joins the new season as Tek Knight, a superhero who can only fly in space. The teaser clip features a boardroom pitch to The Seven that hopes to excite them with phrases like, “rousing music,” and “Haaaaaaans Zimmeeer.” Check that out at the 45:25 mark in the video below.
