Finishing songs can be a struggle for any producer, even those at the top of their game. That’s no different for iconic DJ and producer Eric Prydz. In between rigorous tours, relentless production schedules, running a record label, and operating a radio show, it surely makes sense that a Prydz track could go unfinished for over two years.  Such is the case for a hotly anticipated work-in-progress ID that Prydz played out live as early as February 2019, when he graced the stage at Washington DC’s Echostage. EDC Las Vegas 2021 Lineup Revealed

At long last, the 2021 EDC Las Vegas lineup has been revealed. Alison Wonderland, Knife Party, Martin Garrix, DJ Snake, The Chainsmokers, deadmau5, REZZ, Seven Lions, Kaskade, and many more are primed for performances at the festival at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, scheduled for October 22-24.  Insomniac is set to debut a new stage at their flagship music festival this year, the kineticZEN themed stage at kineticFIELD, which will feature a performance from Kygo as well as a hotly anticipated collaborative DJ set from SLANDER and Said The Sky. As the stateside live music scene picks up the pieces of a lost year, Eric Prydz seems to be returning as hungry as ever. The iconic DJ and progressive house producer has announced an upcoming outdoor concert in Los Angeles with fabled event brand Factory 93, known for their iconic warehouse parties in the City of Angels. The announcement arrives less than two weeks after Prydz shared the news of his impending New York City takeover, a four-date Brooklyn warehouse run split between two weekends in November and December, respectively. The iconic DJ and progressive house producer took to Twitter today to announce an upcoming concert in Los Angeles, which he said is planned for August. After a devastating year for New York’s live music scene, Eric Prydz is returning to the City That Never Sleeps for four industrial warehouse shows. Split between two weekends, Prydz’s upcoming NYC takeover is scheduled for November and December 2021, respectively. The first weekend (11/26 and 11/27) will see the iconic “Call on Me” producer play two extended solo sets for a classic showcase of his progressive house sound. The second slate (12/3 and 12/4) will see Prydz perform under his techno alias Cirez D alongside Drumcode founder Adam Beyer. CAA Signs Eric Prydz With Plans to Bring “Holosphere” to the US

One of the dance music industry’s most groundbreaking artists is making moves to return to the live music scene stronger than ever. In an effort to “bring his artistic vision” to the US market, Eric Prydz has signed with CAA, Billboard reports. The fabled techno and house producer will be represented by music agent Alex Becket, whose roster also includes Lee Burridge and RÜFÜS DU SOL, among others. Becket played a major role in the recent launch of the latter’s impending three-night show run at Los Angeles’ Banc of California Stadium this fall. “2021 will just be about seeing out those commitments and letting the dust settle in a post-COVID world,” Becket says, adding that he hopes the move to CAA will “cement [Prydz’s] status as a trul...

Eric Prydz’s Holosphere Shows Rescheduled to 2022 Due to Scheduling Conflicts

Eric Prydz has unfortunately rescheduled his fan-favorite Holosphere shows due to scheduling conflicts. The announcement arrives on the heels of Tomorrowland‘s 2021 move, which coincides with Creamfields‘ event from August 26th to 29th. In a press statement, Prydz’s team explained that they are unable to transport the giant sphere, citing the proximity of each festival. “Due to Tomorrowland announcing they are moving to the same weekend as Creamfields, it is now impossible for Eric’s team to transport and build the Holosphere in time to play both festivals,” the statement reads. “As Creamfields and Tomorrowland are both equally invested in Holosphere, a mutual decision to move the shows to 2022 has been reluctantly taken.” The news repre...

After announcing a stacked lineup for their main event, which was moved to October 22nd and 23rd, 2021, organizers have unveiled they will be hosting a second two-day festival in partnership with Insomniac‘s beloved Secret Project Festival. YouTube Show Traces Eric Prydz’s “Call On Me” Sample to Its Obscure Roots

A new YouTube program called “Show Me The Sample,” which traces samples from hit songs to their origins, recently featured a piece of dance music history in Eric Prydz‘s “Call On Me.” Hosts Felix Leiter and Dan Nightingale track the song’s iconic hook back to 1982 with the release of English artist Steve Winwood‘s “Valerie.” The song, written by Will Jennings, is about American singer-songwriter Valerie Carter, who was a backup vocalist for Linda Ronstadt, James Taylor, and more before launching a solo career of her own. In the early 1980s, Carter’s career was believed to be in decline due to drug use. The iconic dance music producer has finally dropped the curtain on “NOPUS,” the release of which—up until this point—was verging on mythical. “NOPUS” officially hit streaming platforms today, October 23rd.
