Mattel Developing Live-Action Film About The View-Master Toy

Live-Action ‘Lilo & Stitch’ Coming to Theaters in May 2025

The live-action Lilo & Stitch movie has received a release date, now slated to hit theaters on May 23, 2025.Directed by Dean Fleischer Camp and written by Chris Kekaniokalani Bright, the film will star Chris Sanders as the voice of Stitch and Maia Kealoha as Lilo.Zach Galifianakis is also in the voice cast as Stitch’s creator, Dr. Jumba Jookiba, while Billy Magnussen plays the special agent tasked with hunting Stitch down. Now, retailers that once offered their movie rental services are left wondering what to do with the giant machines parked outside their stores.Over the summer, the parent company of Redbox, Chicken Soup for the Soul, shifted its filing from bankruptcy filing from Chapter 11 to Chapter 7, meaning it would be liquidated. The company also left behind hundreds of millions in debt.Retailers now bear the responsibility of figuring out what to do with the machines.
