Netflix Drops ‘Kingdom: Ashin of the North’ Main Trailer Ahead of July Release Date

With less than two weeks until its release date, Netflix has finally unveiled the main trailer for Kingdom: Ashin of the North. As confirmed by the streaming platform, the upcoming special episode will run for 92 minutes and serve as a spin-off prequel to the first two seasons of the main Kingdom show. Netflix has purchased the rights of a new documentary from Don’t F*** With Cats maker Raw TV based around the Tinder Swindler. As the name of the documentary suggests, the upcoming show follows the crimes of a man who used the popular dating app Tinder to trick Scandinavian women into giving him millions of dollars by posing as a Russian oligarch by the name of Simon Leviev and claiming he needed money for extensive security needs. As it turns out, Leviev was actually an Israeli man named Shimon Hayut, who fled to Europe twice in order to escape fraud, forgery and theft charges back in Israel. A 1963 X-Men comic book racked up a record-high price of $807,300 at a recent auction as the resale value of collectables continues to soar. The fast-paced auction took place online at www.ComicConnect.com with over 50 bidders and wrapped up on June 24. “The winning bid came from an American who invests in many types of collectibles, but sees vintage comics as a rising alternative asset class,” ComicConnect COO Vincent Zurzolo said in a statement. Netflix has revealed the official premiere date for the second season of The Witcher. FX on Hulu has officially released the first trailer for the spin-off anthology series of American Horror Story. American Horror Stories does not follow AHS‘s typical format that follows one story arc for the entirety of the season. The spin-off will actually be composed of separate chill-inducing tales in each episode. Netflix on Thursday announced a new deal with Shonda Rhimes — the mastermind behind the streaming platform’s most-watched series, Bridgerton — that will support the development of feature films and an expansion into virtual reality and gaming. “The newly expanded partnership will give Netflix and Shondaland Media the opportunity to exclusively produce, stream and distribute feature films as well potential gaming and virtual reality content,” the company wrote in a statement.
