While speaking to stand-up comedian Ms. Pat and playwright/performer Jordan E. Cooper, Rogan fell on the topic of Siberian bear-hunting armor. The leather pants, jacket and iron helmet are studded all over with 1-inch iron nails around 3/4 inches apart to deter and inflict damage to bears trying to attack hunters back in the 1800s. RLJE Films has released the official trailer for Sion Sono’s Prisoner of the Ghostland, a neo-noir western film starring Nicolas Cage. Sono’s upcoming title sees Cage as a ruthless bank robber only known as “Hero.” He is sprung from jail by a wealthy warlord known as The Governor (Bill Moseley), who asks Hero to find and rescue his adopted granddaughter, Bernice (Sofia Boutella). If Hero can successfully save Bernice within five days, he will be granted his freedom. If he fails, however, the bombs attached on his leather suit — particularly on his neck, arms and crotch area — will go off. The trailer for A Journal for Jordan starring Michael B. Jordan and directed by Denzel Washington, gives audiences a glimpse of the true story behind Dana Canedy’s bestselling memoir. Canedy, who is a Pulitzer Prize-winning former journalist, wrote the memoir based on her late husband, Sergent Charles Monroe King. Popular anime Attack on Titan is hosting an orchestral concert. Although the concert will be in Japan, streaming and on-demand video access will be available internationally. Idris Elba is officially joining the cast of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 as the voice of Knuckles the Echidna. According to reports, South Korean entertainment company CJ E&M is now developing a movie centered around K-pop for Hollywood. Titled K-Pop: Lost in America, the film will be directed by South Korean director Yoon Je-gyun with pre-production casting starting in August. Linda Obst will serve as a producer on the film, bringing her expertise that helped movies like Interstellar, Contact and Sleepless in Seattle. Additional reports reveal that K-Pop: Lost in America will chronicle the story of a K-pop boy group preparing for their overseas debut in New York. Unfortunately, the group is accidentally sent to Texas and must make their way out to New York with minimal resources and dwindling time.
