Dave Bautista Was Broke Before Marvel Cast Him as Drax In ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’

Dave Bautista has revealed that he was “broke” and “had nothing” before Marvel Studios cast him as Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy. In a recent interview with IGN, the wrestler-turned-actor recounted his life before joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, when he was struggling to make ends meet. “For people to really understand how much my life has changed, they would have to understand where I came from, what I went through when I was in wrestling, what I left behind to take a chance on going into acting,” Bautista began. “When I got the role of Drax in Guardians, I barely worked in three years. So I’d really left wrestling behind and I could have gone back with my tail between my legs, but I still [would] have been just stuck in a place that I never would have gone any further,...

With vaccines in full effect, many employees are returning back to normal office arrangements. Shelters like Animal Care Centers of NYC saw twice the number of animals brought to them last month at 1,393 — more than doubling February’s numbers. Sad instances like bags of kittens being left on the doorsteps of homes in Dallas are now making headlines as animal centers nationwide are reaching max capacity. “We received prior to the pandemic five to 10 inquiries per month for people who couldn’t care for their dogs anymore. That’s like doubled since in recent months,” said Chloe Esperiquett...

David Ayer Denounces ‘Suicide Squad’ Studio Cut, Applauds James Gunn’s Upcoming Film

As James Gunn‘s The Suicide Squad begins to hit theaters on July 30, David Ayer penned a lengthy letter expressing his disdain over the studio cut of his 2016 film, Suicide Squad. “I put my life into Suicide Squad. I made something amazing – My cut is intricate and emotional journey with some ‘bad people’ who are sh*t on and discarded (a theme that resonates in my soul),” he wrote, sharing the letter on Twitter. “The studio cut is not my movie. Read that again. And my cut is not the 10 week director’s cut – It’s a fully mature edit by Lee Smith standing on the incredibly work by John Gilroy. It’s all Steven Price’s brilliant score, with not a single radio song in the whole thing.” He added, “I’ve never told my side of the story and I never will. Why? Same reason no one will ever know what ...
