Hollywood Is Making a Movie About K-Pop, Titled ‘K-Pop: Lost in America’

According to reports, South Korean entertainment company CJ E&M is now developing a movie centered around K-pop for Hollywood. Titled K-Pop: Lost in America, the film will be directed by South Korean director Yoon Je-gyun with pre-production casting starting in August. Linda Obst will serve as a producer on the film, bringing her expertise that helped movies like Interstellar, Contact and Sleepless in Seattle. Additional reports reveal that K-Pop: Lost in America will chronicle the story of a K-pop boy group preparing for their overseas debut in New York. Margot Robbie Joins Tom Hanks on Wes Anderson’s Next Film

Margot Robbie has joined Tom Hanks on the call sheet for Wes Anderson‘s next film, scheduled to begin production in Spain later this month, in a reportedly supporting role, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Few details are currently available surrounding the project, though it is known that the cast also includes Anderson regulars Adrien Brody, Bill Murray and Tilda Swinton. Originally announced back in December of 2020, Sony Pictures Entertainment and AT&T have announced that Sony‘s Funimation Global Group has officially acquired Crunchyroll from AT&T. Funimation’s purchase of the leading anime streaming platform cost $1.175 billion USD and was paid in cash at closing. Although it is unclear of how Funimation and Crunchyroll will merge, AT&T is expected to use proceeds from the sale for its debt reduction efforts. Season five of Adult Swim‘s Rick and Morty is wrapping up, but this time with an hour-long episode.  A brief teaser clip has also been released, alluding to what’s coming in the extended episode. The teaser showcases Morty re-filling the portal gun before he talks with Rick about replacing him. Rick then pulls down his “wheel of better things than Morty.” After giving it a spin, the wheel lands on Two Crows, after which Rick states “you’re fired.” The other options on the whacky wheel include Garbage Goober, Bag of Meat, Gene with Donkey Brains, Kyle 2.o and more. Netflix has released the first trailer for Midnight Mass, an upcoming, seven-episode limited horror series from the creator of The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor, Mike Flanagan. The series takes place on Crockett Island, an isolated island community where existing tensions are heightened after a disgraced man (Zach Gilford) and a charming priest (Hamish Linklater) arrive on the scene. ‘Jackass’ Co-Star Bam Margera Sues Paramount, MTV and Johnny Knoxville

Bam Margera has filed a lawsuit against Paramount Pictures, MTV, Johnny Knoxville and more, alleging illegal dismissal from the upcoming Jackass Forever film. The lawsuit was filed by Margera and his loan-out company, Bam Margera Inc., in Los Angeles Superior Court. In addition to the aforementioned defendants, the group also includes Jeffrey Tremaine, Adam Spiegal a.k.a. Spike Jonze, Dickhouse Entertainment, Gorilla Flicks and others. The first series of the Medieval-set fantasy drama followed a mutated monster-hunter named Geralt, portrayed by Henry Cavill, on his quests throughout an eerie landmass deemed “the Continent.” The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf will serve as a prequel to the live-action series, delving into the origin story of Geralt’s mentor Vesemir, a young witcher, and how monster hunters like him are created. Played by Kim Bodnia, Vesemir will also appear in the live-action series’s second season. Netflix Releases Official Trailer for ‘JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean’

The next chapter for the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure anime has just been officially revealed. Titled JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean, this story takes place 10 years after the events of Golden Wind where Jolyne Cujoh, the first female “JoJo,” is sent to prison for a crime she didn’t commit. Through the trailer, we see that she gets a visit from her father Jotaro Kujo as he attempts to spring her from jail while awakening her string-based stand, Stone Free. The anime will faithfully capture Hirohiko Araki‘s manga version which ran on Weekly Shonen Jump from 2000 to 2003 for a total of 17 volumes. After its announcers struggled to identify and pronounce “Gundam” during a speed climbing event, BBC Sport posted an image showing the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam statue on Twitter over the weekend. But the caption accompanying the photo received some unwanted attention from fans of the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise as the 2020 Tokyo Olympics came to an end. Reading “Just when you thought speed climbing was frightening enough, you now need to impress a Transformer too at #Tokyo2020!,” many were quick to point out how wrong the statement was. The BBC‘s sports platform had thought that the lifesize RX-0 Unicorn Gundam located in Tokyo’s Odaiba district was a Transformer.
