‘Chainsaw Man’ Continues to Lead in Top 20 Adult Graphic Novel Sales

NPD Bookscan has just published its July report on the top adult graphic novels sold, and for the first time in four months, non-manga books made it onto the top 10 list. While it is no surprise that manga is becoming ever so popular, increasing 44 percent in 2020 alone, the findings are showing that there’s a new wave of manga readers looking for the classics, as titles like Attack on Titan Vol.1, Hunter x Hunter Vol. 1, Death Note Vol.1, Naruto Vol.1, and Junji Ito’s horror manga series Tomie are all spiking in sales. As for the non-manga titles, Clint McElroy’s The Adventure Zone: The Crystal Kingdom in both paperback and hardcover along with Chugong’s Solo Leveling Vol.2 are standing out in the sea of Viz Media offerings. Nicolas Cage Gets a Bomb Attached to His Pants in ‘Prisoner of the Ghostland’ Trailer

RLJE Films has released the official trailer for Sion Sono’s Prisoner of the Ghostland, a neo-noir western film starring Nicolas Cage. Sono’s upcoming title sees Cage as a ruthless bank robber only known as “Hero.” He is sprung from jail by a wealthy warlord known as The Governor (Bill Moseley), who asks Hero to find and rescue his adopted granddaughter, Bernice (Sofia Boutella). If Hero can successfully save Bernice within five days, he will be granted his freedom. If he fails, however, the bombs attached on his leather suit — particularly on his neck, arms and crotch area — will go off. ‘Attack on Titan’ Hosts an Orchestra Concert

Popular anime Attack on Titan is hosting an orchestral concert. Although the concert will be in Japan, streaming and on-demand video access will be available internationally. The concert’s live stream begins on August 22 at 6:00 p.m. JST (5:00 a.m. EDT). ZAIKO will be the concert’s streaming provider with on-demand access available through August 29. The trailer is out for the sixth and final season of Netflix‘s supernatural series Lucifer, offering fans a look into how the titular character grapples with pressure for him to ascend to his father’s throne and watch over the Earth he presently walks on. Officially released in this year’s 35th issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine in Japan, the 20th-anniversary special manga chapter for Bleach is available now in English. Free to read exclusively on Viz Media‘s Shonen Jump MANGA Plus service, the new one-shot for Tite Kubo’s beloved series features 76-pages with a full-color cover. Picking up where the Thousand-Year Blood War Arc ended, the special chapter sees familiar characters return sporting new looks along with a few new faces.
