‘Wonder Woman’ Director Patty Jenkins Says Films Made for Streaming “Look Like Fake Movies”

Wonder Woman and WW84 director Patty Jenkins has offered her thoughts on films that release on streaming platforms. Though the director’s last film, Wonder Woman 1984 debuted on HBO Max at the same time as its theatrical release, she did not hold back on her comments about films that were made for streaming. In a recent panel at CinemaCon, Los Angeles Times reported Jenkins thought that WW84‘s release on streaming platforms was a “heartbreaking experience and hugely detrimental to the movie.” She alluded that at the time, it was “the best choice of a bunch of very bad choices at the moment.” While Jenkins knew that it would not pull in numbers like a theatrical release would, she was ultimately thrilled to showcase it to the public. Adult Swim’s New Promo for ‘Rick and Morty’ Live-Action Sees Christopher Lloyd Go Dimension Hopping

Adult Swim has dropped a short, but sweet new promo for its Rick and Morty live-action. The promo sees Christopher Lloyd play the titular mad scientist character, Rick Sanchez. The reveal has excited many fans since the show is originally a Back to the Future spoof. The 14-second clip sees Lloyd as Rick hop out of a portal and into his garage with, of course, Morty (Jaeden Martell) right next to him. Rick then does his best impression of Han Solo’s famous line from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, adding his signature belch before announcing, “Morty, we’re home.” Morty, who seems unimpressed response with a short, “Oh jeez,” to wrap up the promo. On-set videos taken by Liam Crowley of The Direct are teasing a huge car chase sequence for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Crowley shared the videos on social media which supposedly reveal the stunt double of Letitia Wright, who portrays Shuri, on a dirt bike and the stunt double for Danai Gurira, who portrays Okoye, in a muscle car. Just as Nia DaCosta’s Candyman tops the U.S. box office, the film’s writer Jordan Peele has now signed a deal with Universal to develop TV shows together.
