HBO to Release Documentary About the US Capitol Insurrection

HBO has officially announced it will be releasing a documentary on the U.S. Capitol insurrection that occurred earlier this year in January. The documentary, titled Four Hours At The Capitol, explores the events that led President Donald Trump supporters to storm Capitol Hill to protest President Joe Biden’s election victory. The incident resulted in a major Congressional investigation, five deaths and Trump being banned from using social media. HBO’s film features never-before-seen footage from that day’s events and promises to be “tightly focused and comprehensive,” while also “unfolding with urgent precision” of the event. ‘The Book of Boba Fett’ To Premiere on Disney+ This December

Disney+ on Wednesday announced that The Book of Boba Fett — LucasFilm‘s latest series that was first introduced in the end-credit sequence following the season two finale of The Mandalorian — is slated to premiere on Wednesday, December 29. The series “finds legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand navigating the Galaxy’s underworld when they return to the sands of Tatooine to stake their claim on the territory once ruled by Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate,” according to Disney’s official synopsis. ‘Squid Game’ Director Reveals More About Gong Yoo’s Salesman Character

Dong-hyuk Hwang, the director of the highly-anticipated Netflix series Squid Game, revealed more about the salesman played by Gong Yoo. As a special appearance in Episodes 1 and 9, the character on the subway recruits participants into the Squid Game by playing ddakji. With speculations of the red and blue envelopes representing staff and players, the director has commented on the topic and how the character fits in the plot. “The recruiter is a facilitator from the game that gains trust from the authority and is allowed to work outside in public,” says Hwang. DC To Hand Out Free Comic Book NFTs to FanDome Attendees

WarnerMedia’s DC on Wednesday announced that it will give away free comic-book-inspired NFTs to those who register for DC FanDome, the company’s global virtual fan event taking place on October 16. The NFTs, which will be hand-selected by DC publisher and chief creative officer Jim Lee, will depict fan-favorite superheroes including Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman and Harley Quinn. Dave Chappelle has announced his sixth Netflix stand-up special, The Closer, which is slated to land on the streamer on October 5. The comedy special, which is billed as “the sixth chapter,” will be helmed by Emmy-winning director Stan Lathan, who has directed all of Chapelle’s previous Netflix projects. Netflix Reveals Official Trailer for Heist Rom-Com ‘Army of Thieves’

During the Tudum fan event this past weekend, Netflix revealed the official trailer for heist romantic comedy Army of Thieves, a prequel to zombie heist movie Army of the Dead. The film sees the return of Zack Snyder, known for Watchmen, 300, and Justice League, as executive producer, as well as Matthias Schweighöfer who directs and stars in the movie. Army of Thieves is set six years before the events depicted in Army of the Dead in the initial stages of the zombie outbreak.
