Minions 3 Is Coming to Theaters in June 2027

The widely popular Despicable Me franchise kicked off on July 9 2010 and is still going strong 14 years later. Out of the core films, the beloved yellow-hued minion got their own film entitled Minions in 2015. Now the third installment of the Minions film spinoff is set to hit theaters in June of 2027.The announcement of Minion 3's release date is aptly timed given Despicable Me 4 just landed in theaters on July 3 with a $230 million USD box office debut on opening weekend. Netflix is releasing a sequel to the sci-fi dystopian hit, The Platform. The Spanish-language film had premiered at TIFF in 2019, after which Netflix secured a streaming deal for it.In the first movie, prisoners wake up in a tower-style vertical prison consisting of around 250 floors with just one cell per floor. Once a day, a platform filled with food descends from the top floor downwards, momentarily stopping at each floor – those at the top can feast, while prisoners on the lower floors are left to starve. Shelley Duvall, Star of ‘The Shining’ and ‘Popeye,’ Dead at 75

Shelley Duvall died on Thursday at her home in Blanco, Texas, her family and longtime partner Dan Gilroy reported. Her family said the cause of death was complications due to diabetes. Duvall was 75 years old.Born in Fort Worth, Texas in 1949, Duvall was one of the most celebrated actresses of the 1970s, particularly for taking on eccentric roles. While Duvall wasn’t pursuing a career in acting, she fortuitously met director Robert Altman while attending a party in Texas. Redbox Is Closing All of Its Rental Kiosks

Redbox will be closing all of its DVD rental kiosks. The news arrives after the parent company of Redbox, Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment, moves to liquidate all of its assets.The company had originally filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy but turned that into a Chapter 7 liquidation case. Upwards of 1,000 employees working at Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment have been laid off without severance pay.Redbox’s business had already been declining for years as streaming has become the default to watch movies. The rental service reportedly peaked in 2013 with a revenue of $1.97 billion USD, per Variety. The main storyline of The Conjuring franchise could be coming to an end with The Conjuring 4.As per IGN, Warner Bros. officially announced the release date of what is dubbed The Untitled Conjuring Finale, which premieres September 5, 2025 in IMAX.
