44 Million Americans Share Passwords to Video Streaming Services: Survey

How many passwords do you have across all your streaming accounts? Now, how many of them do you share with family, friends, and loved ones? Probably a lot. Probably most of you. Especially if we’re to believe a new report by by Cordcutting.com, which states that 44 million U.S. adults are using shared passwords for streaming services. That’s a whole lot of Netflix and chilling for free, and not surprisingly, it’s gone up in 2020 for a couple of networks. For both Netflix and Amazon Prime, the amount of freeloaders have increased by 14.4% and 13.9%, respectively. Though, oddly enough, Hulu has been spared of millions of moochers as they’re seeing a decline of 17.2%. When those numbers are translated into dollars, you can almost hear the sighs and smell the sweat from the suits at Netflix an...

Tom Cruise Working With NASA on Film Shot in Outer Space [Updated]

Tom Cruise has scaled skyscrapers, he’s hung from the side of a flying plane, he’s jumped from an even higher plane, and he’s nearly grown gils while free diving underwater. For his next stunt, however, he wants to leave Earth altogether — and he’s found a perfect partner-in-crime to make it happen. According to Deadline, the blockbuster star is working with Elon Musk, his Space X program, and NASA to shoot the first narrative feature film in space. They report this isn’t for one of the forthcoming Mission: Impossible films, both of which are currently being delayed amidst the pandemic, but for another film altogether. Update: NASA administrator Jim Bridenstine has confirmed the project, saying, “NASA is excited to work with @TomCruise on a film aboard the @Space_Station! We need popular m...

Tony Iommi: It “Would Be Good” to Play More Black Sabbath Shows

Black Sabbath seemingly played their final shows ever in February 2017, but guitarist Tony Iommi now says he’s “not opposed to” playing more gigs with his legendary metal band. In a new interview with SiriusXM’s “Trunk Nation”, Iommi expressed a bit of regret in ending Sabbath’s touring career. “It was great to be able to go out and do a final tour,” said the guitar icon. “To be honest, I felt a bit bad [about] it, because it was basically my choice, my fault, because touring, for me, at that extent wasn’t a good thing physically.” Iommi was diagnosed with lymphoma in 2012, but revealed he was in remission in 2016. He added, “To get in at four o’clock in the morning from doing a gig … you’re living a life like I used to when I was 20 …  It was just difficult, and my doctor said to me ...

Judi Dench Says Her Cats Coat Looks “Like Five Foxes Fucking on My Back”

Everyone from film critics to Universal Studios was disappointed in Tom Hooper’s adaptation of Cats. As it turns out, the film’s cast was also let down. In a new British Vogue cover story, Judi Dench went on the record to say she was appalled by the film’s CGI, equating her character’s look to that of “a battered, mangy old cat.” Dench had a lot to say about the movie, especially for someone who still hasn’t seen it, notes IndieWire. The 85-year-old actress filmed her parts in green screen while her eyesight was impaired. Afterwards, she was shown photographs and film stills of her character, Old Deuteronomy. “The cloak I was made to wear!” she exclaimed. “Like five foxes fucking on my back.” Instead of looking elegant or refined, Dench said she wound up looking like “a great big oran...

Marilyn Manson is a big fan of Brandi Carlile, so much so that the Antichrist Superstar wants to duet with the alt-country singer on the Wizard of Oz classic “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”. Carlile revealed the tidbit during a new interview with host Zane Lowe on his Apple Music program, remarking, “Marilyn Manson wants to record ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’ with me. He’s been texting me about it.” When Lowe responded, “Do that!”, Carlile answered, “Okay, I will.” She also added, “[Manson] came to my Joni Mitchell Blue show. I did a show where I did all of Blue by Joni Mitchell at Disney Hall in LA. He came, and he cried so hard. He had all his makeup down his face, and turns out he’s the biggest Joni Mitchell fan on the face of the planet.” The original version of “Somewhere Over the R...

Kurt Vile Covers John Prine’s “Sam Stone” During Love From Philly Livestream: Watch

Virtual music festival and fundraiser Love From Philly took place this past weekend and boasted headlining performances from local heroes Kurt Vile and former bandmates The War on Drugs. Broadcast from his own basement, Vile’s set featured his 2010 song “I Know I Got Religion” and 2015’s “I’m an Outlaw”. The main highlight, though, came towards the end when the guitar maestro paid tribute to the late John Prine by covering his classic “Sam Stone”. Vile and Prine actually performed the track together before during a concert in Philadelphia two years ago. Vile has also repeatedly praised the folk legend in interviews. Speaking to The Guardian in 2018, he described Prine as “one of the greatest living American songwriters: he’s a killer performer and storyteller, with all these lamenting...

Jon Voight Calls Donald Trump a “Hero” For His Handling of COVID-19 Pandemic

By all accounts, the Trump administration’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic has been an unmitigated disaster. Already 70,000 Americans have lost their lives due to the virus, and thousands more victims are being claimed each day. And that’s not to mention the economic consequences resulting from a nationwide shutdown that happened two months too late. But in the warped reality that is Conservative Twitter, everything is just fine and dandy. Just ask Trump’s old buddy and recent Medal of Freedom recipient Jon Voight who praises the president as a “hero” for his handling of the crisis. Voight made the remarks in a new Twitter video called “A Message of Hope”, in which the actor showers Trump with praise that sounds like something you’d hear out of North Korea. Each sentence is more ba...

Robert Rodgriguez Directed a Season 2 Episode of The Mandalorian

Robert Rodgriguez is no stranger to tales of violent outlaws and children in danger. Now, the creative mind behind the Sin City and Spy Kids franchises has confirmed his work directing a Season 2 episode of The Mandalorian. In a May 4th post on Twitter, Rodriguez shared a picture of himself and a certain green puppet. “I am truly humbled to say I have now had the very rare privilege of directing the biggest star in the universe,” he wrote. Season 2 is expected to debut in October. While Disney is usually tight-lipped about these things, the House of Mouse has been strategically leaking details about their only universally-adored Star Wars property. In March we learned that Rosario Dawson will take up the dual lightsabers of fan-favorite Ahsoka Tano, and yesterday Peyton...

Videos of each reading will be released weekly from now until mid-summer on WizardingWorld.com, and will be available as an audiobook o...

Migos Celebrate “Taco Tuesday” on New Track: Stream

Cinco de Mayo falls on a Tuesday this year, and I didn’t even realize it until Migos dropped their new song. The auspiciously timed track is called “Taco Tuesday”, and you can stream it below. As far as the song itself goes, “Taco Tuesday” is a pretty basic cut that barely goes over a minute and a half. The Migos trio, represented by different colored hot sauces in the corresponding lyrics video, trade verses in which they drop a bunch of Mexican food puns while making standard boasts about cash and girls. The whole affair opens with a sample of LeBron James screaming for his favorite weekly meal. Listen to “Taco Tuesday” via its lyric video below, and perhaps get ready for more Migos in the near future. Last month, Quavo teased the possibility of a “Quarantine Mixtape” to keep fans satiat...
