Belle and Sebastian Releasing New Album, Late Developers, This Friday

Belle and Sebastian have announced a new album: Late Developers is out this Friday, January 13, via Matador. The album was recorded during the sessions for 2022’s A Bit of Previous, and finds Stuart Murdoch and his bandmates pairing their guitar-oriented songwriting with touches of harpsichord and other instrumentation. Check out the tracklist for the upcoming album below. Ahead of the full release, the band has shared a song called “I Don’t Know What You See in Me,” which arrives with its own music video. The single was co-written by Pete Ferguson of the band Wuh Oh, and marks the first time that Belle and Sebastian have ever enlisted a co-writer. The New Pornographers are back with a new song, “Really Really Light,” which leads an album called Continue as a Guest. The LP is out March 31, via Merge, and you can hear the single below. The song, co-written with sometime member Dan Bejar, comes with a Christian Cerezo–directed video in which the dancer Svetlana Tulasi ice skates across an iceless warehouse. Touring and Mental Health: The Music Industry Manual, an in-depth guide edited by London-based psychotherapist and former booker Tamsin Embleton, has gotten an official release date. The 600-plus-page book collects insights from therapists, artists, performance coaches, psychologists, and other specialized health and wellness experts. It arrives on March 23 via Omnibus Press. In addition to her work as a therapist and writer, Embleton co-founded the Music Industry Therapist Collective. She was inspired to start pursuing psychotherapy from her own experience working in the music industry. Nile Rodgers, Four Tet’s Kieran Hebden, and Radiohead’s Philip Selway are all among those interviewed in Touring and Mental Health. Dr. Dre Sends Cease and Desist to Marjorie Taylor Greene Over “Still D.R.E.”

Dr. Dre has condemned Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene’s use of his 2001 song “Still D.R.E.” in a promotional video, TMZ reports. In a statement to the media outlet, the rapper and producer said, “I don’t license my music to politicians, especially someone as divisive and hateful as this one.” Dr. Dre’s attorney, Howard E. After over $15,000 worth of music production equipment was stolen from his studio, Argentinian-born techno producer Pfirter has launched a campaign to replace the gear. The DJ, whose real name is Juan Pablo Pfirter, took to social media to announce the “particularly devastating” theft.
