Earl Sweatshirt and Action Bronson have announced a co-headlining 2022 tour. The 15-date trek—dubbed the ÑBA Leather World Tour—will include special guests the Alchemist and Boldy James as support. The Last Waltz—Martin Scorsese’s iconic documentary capturing the Band’s 1976 farewell concert—is getting an official Criterion Collection release. Scorsese’s 1978 film will tout 4K digital restoration, audio commentary versions from Martin Scorsese, Robbie Robertson, and Mavis Staples, and others, a new interview with Scorsese conducted by critic David Fear, outtakes, and more. It will be available on Blu-ray and 4K UHD starting March 29, 2022. The Last Waltz was filmed at San Francisco’s Winterland Ballroom on Thanksgiving, 1976. LCD Soundsystem have released a statement saying that they intend not to cancel the remaining dates in their Brooklyn residency, despite surging COVID-19 case numbers in New York. The band posted it Friday night (December 17), explaining that they had considered the risks against the demand for the remaining performances on December 19, 20 and 21. “we said we would play, and people are coming, so we are playing,” the note read, though it also had a cautionary tone: “us playing the shows is in no way an indicator that it’s safe to attend.” See the rest here. He succeeds Lauren Wirtzer-Seawood, who departed the role in May to join SoundCloud as chief content and marketing officer.
