LONDON – When Will Hutton was appointed Beggars Group’s inaugural head of sustainability in September of last year, his first task was tackling “low hanging fruit” at the indie powerhouse, which includes labels 4AD, Matador, Rough Trade, XL Recordings and Young labels. That included calculating the businesses’ carbon footprint and identifying areas where action could be taken quickly, such as reducing business travel, installing solar panels at Beggars Group’s London offices and improving the sustainability of products. “Now the conversation moves onto what we need to do as an industry,” says Hutton. This month, the global music business took a significant step towards a greener, more sustainable future when all three major record companies — Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment...

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Vivien Killilea / Getty Now that Big Sean has finally responded to the shots that Kanye West took at him on Drink Champs, Hit-Boy is opening up about his feelings on the situation and is just as confused as Big Sean was at the initial slander. Chopping it up with DJ Akademiks on his Off The Record podcast, Hit-Boy said he was taken aback by Ye calling his Big Sean signing the “worst” thing he’s ever done as the three of them were kicking it together just days before the interview aired and Ye was acting like things were on the up and up. Related Stories “That was confusing for me, because me and Sean was with him for two days straight and he had already recorded the Drink Champs so it was weird for him to not say nothing. Above & Beyond took to one of Colombia’s tallest peaks to lift our spirits during a breathtaking livestream performance. The location was atop the magnificent El Peñón de Guatapé, a natural landmark located in Piedra del Peño. The towering, 650-foot granite monolith sticks out like a sore thumb amid lush greenery and surrounding waters, but historically it has been revered for its perceived sacred qualities. Teaming up with Cercle, the iconic trance music outfit rose to the occasion at the summit with a dedicated crowd of fans. It’s even more impressive considering the fact that El Peñón can only be summited by way of the 650 stairs embedded in the side of the landmark. Those who missed the live show can still relive the magic via the recorded Facebook ...
