Elvis Costello Unveils ‘Phonographic Memory’

A few weeks after revealing details for his upcoming album, Hey Clockface,  Elvis Costello has shared another song…that isn’t on the album. On Friday, Costello unveiled “Phonographic Memory,” which serves as the B-side to the previously released “We Are All Cowards Now.” According to a release, the song “imagines a post-war ceremony involving an archive recording of the voice of Orson Welles and someone identified only as, “President Swift.’” In addition to “We Are All Cowards Now,” Costello has shared  “No Flag,” “Hetty O’Hara Confidential” from the upcoming album. Elvis Costello Shares ‘Hetty O’Hara Confidential’

As he tipped off a month ago, Elvis Costello has indeed shared another new song. Titled “Hetty O’Hara Confidential,” a description of the song reads as “the tale of a tattler who outlives her time.” Fair enough A few weeks ago, Costello shared “No Flag,” which was his first new song in over a year. He trekked to Finland in February and worked for three days at Suomenlinnan Studio, a recording facility a 20-minute ferry ride from downtown Helsinki. This song is from those sessions, which Costello produced. “Hetty O’Hara Confidential” was recorded and engineered by Eetü Seppälä and mixed in Los Angeles by Sebastian Krys. Dave Grohl, Jon Batiste, Jim James and More to Play Preservation Hall Benefit

Dave Grohl, Jon Batiste, Jim James and more musicians will be bringing their talents to ‘Round Midnight Preserves, a special show to help benefit the Preservation Hall Foundation. The livestream show will feature a set of musical collaborations and never-before-seen performances from past Midnight Preserves. There will also be commentary from Preservation Hall Creative Director Ben Jaffe, director Danny Clinch and other special guests. Other performers include Elvis Costello, Irma Thomas, Dave Matthews, Beck, PJ Morton and Nathaniel Rateliff. Elvis Costello Shares New Song ‘No Flag’

Elvis Costello has shared a new song. Titled “No Flag,” it is Costello’s first new song since 2019. That year, he released Purse, a four-song EP recorded with the Imposters. According to a release, Costello went to Finland in February and worked for three days at Suomenlinnan Studio, a recording facility a 20-minute ferry ride from downtown Helsinki. “I wanted to go somewhere nobody knew me.
