Find Solace In Elderbrook and Amtrac’s Soothing Single, “I’ll Be Around”

You know that one person you can call at any time, for any reason, and they’ll always be there for you? That’s the underlying message within “I’ll Be Around,” Elderbrook and Amtrac‘s stunning new collab.  Individually, the two are no strangers to infusing soft and sensual elements into their music. And together, they’ve produced what we can only describe as a transformative sound.  “I’ll Be Around” kicks off by introducing its ethereal and melancholic chord progression. Before long, Elderbrook’s distinct, feathery vocals swoop in like a warm hug right when you need it the most. “I’ll be there when you need me, like a light in the evening, by your side when you’re sleeping,” he croo...

Watch the Trippy Music Video for Kx5 and Elderbrook’s Haunting House Track, “When I Talk”

After the release of Kx5‘s latest stunning single, the hype surrounding deadmau5 and Kaskade‘s collaborative debut album is bubbling over. “When I Talk” is the fifth single to drop ahead of the album, which is expected to release in early 2023. It’s a haunting house record produced in collaboration with Elderbrook, whose feathery vocals are as aching as ever. The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter and beatsmith stuns with his spellbinding topline, which explores the difficulties of breaking the binds of a loved one who builds emotional walls. “[“When I Talk”] is about barriers. Shutting people out and dealing with that,” Elderbrook said in a statement. “The song means a lot to me, I’m so happy to have it coming out finally a...

ODESZA Announce 2022 Amphitheater Tour

When rumors begin to swirl around a band’s album or touring plans, oftentimes the reality can be disappointing. Luckily for fans of ODESZA, the frenzy of speculation turned out to be better than they could have ever imagined. Coming to 25 cities across the United States and Canada this summer is ODESZA’s 2022 amphitheater tour, “The Last Goodbye,” which takes its name from the duo’s upcoming album. ODESZA will be taking the stage on a scale grander than any of their previous tours. In an effort to reduce the environmental impact of large-scale events, they have announced a partnership with the nonprofit REVERB in an effort to make the tour carbon-neutral or—ideally—carbon-negative. There will be a “REVERB Eco Village” at the shows to encourage fans...

Elderbrook Explores Life, Love and Longing on New EP, “Innerlight”: Listen

“You want to dance. I want to lead,” croons dance-electronica virtuoso Elderbrook at the top of his new EP, Innerlight. The lyric couldn’t be more fitting. Out October 9th via Big Beat Records, Innerlight is a four-track whirlwind of hypnotic synths, house-adjacent ballads and atmospheric dance breaks. At its best, it’s a refined level-up from Elderbrook’s signature brand of euphoric dance-pop, leaning into layered song structures that move beyond his leading vocal lines. The project’s titular single with Bob Moses, for example, twists and turns with anticipative piano builds and weighty bass beats across its moody soundscape. “Dominoes” (with Louis the Child) glows with muted synth tones and a textured percussion line while &#...

Elderbrook Sets a Dance Floor-Focused Tone With Innerlight EP

At 7 pm, when the majestic Red Rocks Amphitheatre, the legendary venue in Morrison, Colorado is glowing with the remaining light of day, the noticeably young audience for the triple-bill of Louis the Child, What So Not and Elderbrook is already throwing up in the aisles. Elderbrook, born Alex Kotz, is aware of the heightened energy of the waiting crowd, but it doesn’t interfere in his relaxed Zen state. He is sequestered in his cozy dressing room, which is outfitted like a high-end boutique hotel. There are quality snacks, designer bottled water and a chic bathroom. He shows off a brand-new tattoo on his inner wrist. It’s an acronym: WWPBD, which stands for “What Would Pooh Bear Do.” The tattoo is a reference to the wisdom of A.A. Milne’s beloved character. It’s a reminder for Kotz to ask ...
