Splash House Brings a Wet and Wild Weekend to Palm Springs

People in cowboy hats and thongs standing in line at the local I Heart Mac & Cheese; golf carts speeding down the streets, bubble guns at the ready; and some of the most enthusiastic, non-eight-year-old patrons that an aviation museum has ever seen…Oh, Splash House, there’s nothing quite like you. It’s Christmas in August this year in Palm Springs, thanks to not one, but two editions of the staple SoCal dance music festival. With Weekend One spanning from August 12th to 14th, the event’s first run this month was a wet and wild takeover of The Renaissance, Margaritaville and Saguaro Hotels by day and the Palm Springs Air Museum by night.  As headliner John Summit famously tweeted (and has since deleted), “I’m drunk and I’m high and I’...

Fresh Pressed Reintroduces Festivals to the Pacific Northwest

My eyes were fixated on the Tacoma skyline as I lay on the sharp, prickly grass below the only shaded structure in the venue. Gazing out into the horizon, a silhouette of high rises framed the lonesome stage that would be the focus of the evening.  Grappled by my surroundings, I was unaware of the impromptu game of Duck, Duck, Goose that had attendees cheering for the winner as she slid down to the ground. Nor was I aware of the spontaneous crowd that rose from the field to partake in a yoga session.  All throughout the venue, mini beehives of activity sprung up, all in high spirits, waiting for the reverberation of the speakers to pull them to the dancefloor. Over an hour later, the crowd cheered on as the music finally returned to Haub Family Field. Nora En Pure performing...

EDX Taps Jess Ball for “I Found You (Neptune),” Breathing New Life Into 2019 Hit [Premiere]

Switzerland’s most streamed electronic artist, EDX, took the world by storm back in 2019 when he went back to his progressive house roots on the hit single “Neptune.” After the track garnered an abundance of international support and skyrocketed its way to the top of the Beatport charts within days of its release, EDX knew it was time to reignite the fire and bring vocals to the retrospective anthem.  EDX has teamed up with Australian singer/songwriter Jess Ball to deliver the top-line, creating the vibrant new cut “I Found You (Neptune),” which EDM.com has the pleasure of premiering today. The original is a powerful instrumental production that guides the listener into a state of bliss, filled with arpeggiated string work and a steady beat that is s...

Sam Feldt, Vini Vici, BEAUZ, and More to DJ at In-Game Minecraft Music Festival Celebrating Class of 2020

The impact of COVID-19 effectively harpooned the live music industry, but perhaps even more devastating was its crippling effect on the education sector. College seniors, who were forced to make the difficult transition to fully online courses, sadly found themselves worrying not about whether or not their gown fits, but whether or not they’ll be able to wear it at all. As graduations across the world continue to tragically bite the dust, robbing seniors of a moment they worked tirelessly for over the course of their entire lives, many are trying to fill the void with virtual events. Such is the case with a group of lionhearted students and alumni from UC Berkeley, who recently announced Blockeley Music Festival, a major in-game Minecraft music festival jointly hosted ...
