Stream it below. The party-ready banger finds the quartet more than ready for a night out on the town, with Chari XCX leading the charge over a beat that samples Stromae’s 2010 Eurodance single “Alors On Danse.” “If we’re going out, out for the night/ I’mma meet you down on the floor/ Oh tell me, so tell me when you’re/ Out, out for the night/ We can get it started, let’s go/ Just watch me dance,” Charli commands before giving in completely to the song’s funky, squelching rhythm. Anytime Skrillex makes a peep, EDM Twitter is bound to explode in conversation. After he posted a shirtless photo to Instagram with the caption, “Was it love that made you go so hard?” he set Twitter alight with jokes and quips from the EDM community.  We cover some of those tweets and more in this edition of the “Top 5 EDM Tweets of the Week.”  RAY VOLPE IS CONCERNED In a bid to keep his relationship alive after Skrillex’s shirtless pic, Ray Volpe kindly requested that Skrillex remove the picture before his significant other gets any ideas.  TYNAN CALLS BACK TO YOUR LEAST FAVORITE MIDDLE SCHOOL CLASSMATE As the rumors of new Skrillex music began to grow after the shirtless picture and a vague photo of butterflies posted to the r/Skrillex subred...

Top 5 EDM Tweets of the Week: May 3, 2021

For better or worse, EDM Twitter is here to stay. Fan disputes, DJ complaints, and viral memes are just a small part of the subculture of EDM Twitter that has made the community so interesting to watch.  We’ve compiled some of the past week’s best tweets for your enjoyment. FuntCase’s Self-Deprecating Humor We all know that anything FuntCase could possibly be teasing is going to be phenomenal, but the famed dubstep producer still insists that his work-in-progress productions are akin to a dumpster. @bassbutterflyyy Misses the PLUR User @bassbutterflyyy poked some fun at EDM Twitter with a tongue-in-cheek observation of the more fiery attitude some of the community’s members have adopted after a year in lockdown.  James Landino’s Hot Take Considering ...

Danny L Harle Unleashes New Album Harlecore: Stream

Danny L Harle has unleashed his new conceptual club album Harlecore. Stream it below via Apple Music or Spotify. The PC Music member and producer for Charli XCX and Rina Sawayama has been at the forefront of the experimental EDM scene for over a decade, but Harlecore is technically his debut full-length as a solo artist — and it’s an ambitious one. The album is set at a club in an alternate reality with four different dancefloors and four different DJ’s — DJ Danny, MC Boing, DJ Mayhem, and DJ Ocean — who each have their own unique style. Each DJ is, of course, just Harle under a different alias, and the album ping-pongs between the rooms at a blissfully disorienting clip. The English musician previewed the record by giving fans a taste of each DJ’s set, but it all comes together ...

Diplo Headlined a Super Bowl Super-Spreader Party and Played Morgan Wallen: Watch

America: the land of the free to not give a damn about holding each other accountable. In more evidence that this is a country that not only can’t have nice things but doesn’t even seem to want them, Diplo threw a massive pre-Super Bowl party/super-spreader event in Tampa where he played Morgan Wallen. Just like Tom Brady is still winning rings in 2021, the pandemic is still here. Yet Florida was so excited to host a Super Bowl being played by one of its home teams that it completely ignored that latter fact — that is, more so than usual. The WTR Tampa Pool hosted pre-game events all weekend, with Steve Aoki on Friday and Diplo on Saturday. As can be seen in video obtained by TMZ, COVID-19 precautions were utterly nonexistent for the 2,000-capacity crowds. Clips show almost completely mask...

The Knife’s Olof Dreijer Remixes Robyn & Röyksopp’s “Monument”: Stream

The Knife had a big 2020, marking their 20th anniversary with a series of reissues, a long-awaited migration to Bandcamp, live performances, and a new anti-nationalist anthem. With the celebration behind them, though, the group’s Olof Dreijer is back to his own work. Today, he’s shared a remix of “Monument” by Robyn & Röyksopp. “Monument” comes from the Swedish collaborators’ 2014 Do It Again EP, but it’s given a completely new spin here. The original pulsed with heavy sultriness as Robyn delivered slow and deliberate lyrics of determination. Dreijer kicks up the tempo considerably, speeding the vocals and panning the audio back and forth. The instrumentation also has been given something of a more classic dancefloor vibe, to the point where you can almost see the flashing lights cutti...

Daft Punk Upload Tron: Legacy Bonus Tracks to Streaming Services

Daft Punk have revealed Tron: Legacy — The Complete Edition, a 10th anniversary update of their only film soundtrack. The expanded reissue contains a total of nine bonus tracks, and you can stream it below via Apple Music or Spotify. This comes on the heels of their September vinyl box set from Mondo, which notably included seven previously-unreleased songs: “Sea of Simulation”, “ENCOM, Part II”, “ENCOM, Part I”, “Round One”, “Castor”, and “Reflections”. That deluxe edition was only available on vinyl until this week, when it suddenly appeared on some streaming services for the first time. But it had changed over the last couple of months, acquiring an additional two bonus tracks (“Father and Sons” and “Outlands, Part II”, which were previously iTunes exclusives) as well as the fittin...

Vin Diesel Still Doing the Music Thing on Second Dance Single “Days Are Gone”: Stream

Last month, Vin Diesel made his music debut with a single called “Feel Like I Do”. The tropical house track saw the Fast & Furious star trade in his tough guy exterior for something a little more relaxed and vacation-ready. Proving the song wasn’t just a one-time fluke, Diesel is back now with a second offering, “Days Are Gone”. Not to be confused with that very good HAIM album, today’s single continues to scream “DJ Dom Toretto in a Hawaiian shirt”. Like its predecessor, “Days Are Gone” is out through Palm Tree Records, the label co-founded by Kygo, who has all but mastered the tropical house genre for island-hopping millennials. It was also co-written by Diesel, Kygo collaborator Petey Martin, and Noah McBeth (a.k.a. NoMBe). Stream it down below. “Something about 2020 led me to this ...

Vin Diesel Goes EDM on Debut Single “Feel Like I Do”: Stream

With quarantine still in full swing and Fast & Furious 9 delayed until next year, what’s Vin Diesel to do with his spare time? Apparently get really into EDM. Today, the 53-year-old actor has released his debut single, a clubby track titled “Feel Like I Do”. Though it may be amusing to think about Groot hitting the dance floor, Diesel’s new song is more in line with Kygo and Flume — it’s a forever summer tune for the celebrity Coachella crowd. And it makes perfect sense given the personnel working behind the scenes; “Feel Like I Do” was written by Kygo collaborator Petey Martin and released via the Kygo co-founded Palm Tree Records. “For so long, I have been promising to release music… encouraged by you, to step out of my comfort zone,” Diesel wrote on Instagram. “Thank you for believi...
