EDC is making waves—literally. Insomniac Events’ beloved festival brand is taking to the seas after its founder and CEO, Pasquale Rotella, revealed a brand new nautical event, EDSea. As maritime music festivals grow in popularity, it should come as no surprise that EDC is rocking the boat. The four-night EDSea event enters a market with a number of well-established players, like Groove Cruise and FriendShip. But Insomniac already owns and operates its own EDM cruise excursion, Holy Ship! Wrecked, so the renowned promoter isn’t exactly entering uncharted waters. Welcoming the return of the promoter’s fan-favorite kineticBLOOM production, this year’s EDC Orlando features one of its largest lineups to date. With less than one month until EDC Las Vegas, Insomniac has announced the stage-by-stage lineups for the 2022 festival, which is set to take place at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway May 20-22. Each year Insomniac unveils an enormous lineup for EDC Las Vegas, where over 200 artists perform across eight stages throughout the weekend. This year, a number of those artists will take to a brand new, ninth stage called bionicJUNGLE, which will focus on house music. Las Vegas Police Arrest EDC Ticket-Holder After Threat of “Chemical Attack”
Las Vegas law enforcement recently thwarted one disgruntled EDC ticket-holder’s alleged plan to attack the flagship Insomniac music festival. Abraham Hurtado-Castrejon was arrested outside of a local grocery store and booked on charges of issuing threats in a potential an act of terrorism. Police reportedly seized an illegal 3D printed firearm from the suspect’s home. According to the arrest report, the suspect sent a video message to Insomniac CEO Pasquale Rotella in which he threatened to pop balloons on the festival grounds filled with lethal doses of fentanyl. The official set times and schedule for EDC Las Vegas, the biggest rave in North America, have arrived. With the best artists in dance music, the set times for all eight stages are overwhelming in the best way. Every day after the opening celebrations, all of the stage’s lineups begin at 7PM and last until 5:30AM. Ticket-holders are already shook up over the clashing sets. One of the most heartbreaking choices to make will be between Tiësto, Gryffin, and Martin Garrix, who all play Saturday from midnight to 1AM. Insomniac Announces EDC Vegas 2021 Early Arrival Celebrations
EDC Vegas 2021 will be full of energy all weekend long—even before it’s scheduled to start. In celebration of the music festival’s 25th anniversary, Insomniac has announced early arrival events featuring special performances for fans craving even more. In previous editions of EDC, the gates have opened around 7PM, but organizers will kick things off this in 2021 at 5PM each day at the cosmicMeadow stage. The rest of the fest will open as usual at 7. Friday, October 22nd will feature a special opening ceremony and DJ sets from Solardo, Vintage Culture, and John Summit.
