Hoodlums attack police station in Ebonyi, kill three police officers
The Ebonyi State Police Command has confirmed the attack on Onueke police station in Ezza South Local Government area of the state by hoodlums. The Command disclosed that three police officers on duty were gunned down by the hoodlums during the attack. Police spokeswoman DSP Loveth Odah, who confirmed the incident to reporters in Abakaliki on Sunday, said the hoodlums attacked the station on Friday night. PDP hails court verdict on Governor Obaseki’s case as triumph of justice
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday described as a triumph of justice, the Federal High Court, Abuja, ruling on the alleged certificate forgery case against the Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki. The court had on Saturday morning dismissed the case filed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) against the governor for lack of merit. Justice Ahmed Mohammed, who delivered judgment in the case, said APC could not prove its claim that Obaseki forged his academic certificates submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) before the September 19, 2019 governorship election in the state. Man docked for ‘stealing’ chicken breeders
The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) on Friday brought a 48-year-old security man, Peter Sanbe, before an Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, for allegedly stealing chicken breeders. Newsmen report that Sanbe of an undisclosed address, was docked on a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy, stealing and unlawful neglect of duty. According to the Prosecutor, Insp. Catherine Michael, Sanbe and others still at large, did conspire to commit the offence. A 27-year-old mechanic, Friday Ogbu, who allegedly drove recklessly, causing the death of a four-year-old girl, on Thursday appeared in Chief Magistrates’ Court in Gwagwalada, FCT. CNN Ex-Senator from Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, on Saturday visited survivors of a 2012 Boko Haram bomb blast at St Monica Catholic Church, in Malali, Kaduna.
