With new tour dates on the calendar for Dumont, it feels like the right time to reboot his club-focused EP series, which first began in 2012. Dumont kicks things off with “Alter Ego,” leading listeners down a rabbit hole of arpeggiated acid synth textures. Paired with the confident and smooth vocals of Channel Tres, it’s enough to put anyone in a party starting mood. That energy continues more unabashedly on the B-side, “Let Me Dance.” Kid Enigma waxes poetic about the lights, vibrations, and sounds of losing one’...

Duke Dumont’s “Nightcrawler” Music Video is a Nostalgic Race Through the Streets of LA

When Duke Dumont dropped the curtain on his Duality LP back in April, there is no doubt he knew he had a hit on his hands. Following a litany of wildly popular releases that essentially moonlighted as quick bites in anticipation of the record, he unveiled his debut album and stunned the dance music community with a bona fide Grammy frontrunner. Dumont has now released the official music video for “Nightcrawler,” the lead single from Duality. A sultry deep house collaboration with Australian twin sister duo Say Lou Lou, the track serves as a microcosm of the trailblazing sound design of one of the genre’s most refined producers. Produced by Obra House—a studio perhaps best known for developing the videos for Lil Nas X‘s “Panini” and Me...

Purple Disco Machine Funkifies Duke Dumont’s Classic Single “Ocean Drive”

Duke Dumont has been filling our summer with fresh remixes of tracks from his debut album Duality. The latest remix sees his 2015 hit “Ocean Drive” reworked into a funky house bop courtesy of Purple Disco Machine. The rework arrives after Dumont offered up an acoustic rendition of his catchy tune “Nightcrawler” last week. Purple Disco Machine’s remix of “Ocean Drive” is a groovy ride front to back. The German producer looped and chopped the unforgettable vocals of the original track as well as added plucky synths and a funky bassline to cultivate a nostalgic feel. While maintaining the sincerity of the original, Purple Disco Machine has added the perfect amount of his own personal touch to truly make this version of “Ocean DriveR...

Duke Dumont Reimagines “Nightcrawler” with Sultry Acoustic Offering

Duke Dumont has long been lauded as one of the most forward-thinking acts in house music. Just a few months ago, the Grammy-nominated producer released his debut album Duality and he has recently been releasing its accompanying remixes, with the acoustic reimagining of his after-hours hit “Nightcrawler” as his latest offering.  The original “Nightcrawler” is a groovy late-night tune and the acoustic version retains a similar feel while adding a new layer of passion over the original. Stripping away the drums and electric guitar, Duke Dumont has replaced every element of the track except Say Lou Lou‘s soothing vocals. The funky electric guitar riff has been replaced with a soft yet plucky acoustic guitar, while the hook has been bolstered by a li...
