Getter Apologetically Cancels Shows Due to Ear Ailment, Surgery

Getter has cancelled a number of shows on his 2021 North American tour due to a severe ear ailment. Sadly, it seems the superstar electronic music producer and DJ can’t catch a break with his health. In 2019, he took some time off to focus on his mental health. Considering the precarious nature of musicians’ mental and physical wellbeing, such respites are incredibly important for them since they often endure grueling music production and touring schedules.  “we all know i have been having some weird ear problems,” Getter said in a tweeted statement on December 2nd. “i got the surgery for it, i took all the medicines they gave me, i even quit my juul because so many ppl told me it could be making it worse. all these efforts have done nothin...

ILLENIUM Goes to the Dark Side With Ferocious “Heavy Edit” of New Collab With Trippie Redd and Sueco

You probably haven’t heard ILLENIUM quite like this before. Fresh off a Grammy nomination for his fourth album, Fallen Embers, the electronic music superstar today dropped a massive edit of “Story Of My Life,” an upcoming crossover collab with Sueco and Trippie Redd. And it’s not for the faint of heart. Fans hoping for the classic ILLENIUM sound can find solace in the original version of “Story Of My Life,” which drops on Friday and will almost certainly be rooted in his signature melodic bass style. However, the “Heavy Edit” of the track is raucous in nature. Angsty and breathtaking, it’s a pop-punk and emo rap crossover rife with dubstep influences and ferocious sound design. You can listen to the “Heavy Edit...

BLVK JVCK Demands Respect In Music Video for Ferocious Dubstep Song, “No Love”

BLVK JVCK is back with his latest masterstroke, a dubstep banger called “No Love.” Revered for his ferocious “hoodstep” sound and subversive music videos, the renowned electronic music producer, who was named to EDM.com‘s Class of 2021 earlier this year, has unveiled the official music video for his latest single. Dubbed “No Love,” it’s a typically unhinged dubstep anthem oozing with his signature hip-hop influences. NGHTMRE and Zomboy Wreak Havoc With “Shell Shock” Alongside Georgia Ku: Listen

When they launched their joint label Gud Vibrations back in 2018, little did SLANDER and NGHTMRE know that their 100th release would come with such a bang. Tapping UK-based heavyweight Zomboy and acclaimed vocalist Georgia Ku, NGHTMRE has unveiled his latest single “Shell Shock,” a ruthless dubstep ballad bound to light up stages across the world. On top of being the 100th release on Gud Vibrations, “Shell Shock” marks Zomboy’s first original music after a two-year hiatus, which—interestingly enough—came just in time for Halloween weekend. “Shell Shock” masterfully juxtaposes menacing drops with Ku’s heavenly yet powerful vocals. NGHTMRE and Zomboy’s chemistry, on the other hand, is unmatched, as they masterfully accompany her singing with cinematic production, letting it all burn down in ...

Watch Skrillex Bring Out Benny Benassi to Drop Iconic “Cinema” Remix In New York

During last night’s massive performance in Brooklyn, Skrillex ignited the nostalgia machine. In one of the concert’s many dreamlike moments, the electronic music virtuoso turned back the clock to 2011, when he released his seminal remix of Benny Benassi‘s “Cinema.” With its mighty bass and vocals that galvanize fans into screaming at the top of their lungs, the track has grown to be a generational anthem for dubstep fans. What made the moment so surreal, however, wasn’t the record itself, but who played it. Skrillex brought out Benassi himself to drop the song live before a wild crowd, taking a moment to thank the Italian dance music icon. “This man changed my life with this song,” Skrillex gushed. SVDDEN DEATH‘s latest track puts the evil in medieval. In the midst of his fall tour, which features his biggest production to date, the dubstep superstar has dropped one of his most anticipated records. Titled “Transmutation Sequence,” the track skyrocketed to the top of his fans’ list of favorites the second it made its live debut. Embodying all the themes that make for an all-time SVDDEN DEATH release—and dripping with his signature style—it’s very easy to see why fans held their breath for so long. When the track begins, a bell tolls and a haunting voice like something out of The Green Knight asks listeners what they would do with one wish before promising “riches from beyond your grasp.” After the eerie intro, a glitchy frenzy of hard-hit...

Apparently Billie Eilish Loves Dubstep—And Skrillex

Have you ever wondered what a dubstep song from Billie Eilish would sound like? Neither have we. But it’s now top-of-mind thanks to a new interview with The New Yorker, who chatted with Eilish and her brother FINNEAS, a prolific music producer and the mastermind behind the vast majority of her recordings. The Grammy-winning siblings recently took the virtual stage at the The New Yorker Festival, which featured discussions and performances by some of the most prominent names in music, literature, politics, film, art, and pop culture. And of all the things to analyze at such a prestigious summit, Eilish and FINNEAS chose dubstep.  Eilish is apparently a fan of Skrillex and his old-school sound, which longtime diehards have been clamoring for as he continues to produce pop-ori...

Listen to Rich DietZ and Poya’s Anthemic Trap Banger “Empire”

Rich DietZ are back—but this time with an exciting new look. Known for their unique twist on house music, the duo have eschewed their signature sound, teaming up with dubstep producer Poya for a brand new banger called “Empire.” “Empire” is a slight departure, but that doesn’t make it any less impressive. The thunderous single is as authoritative as its title suggests, a post-summer trap anthem that moonlights as a celebration of the long-awaited return of music festivals. The track’s mirthful lyrics invite listeners to simply let loose—and to break necks, of course. After a typically head-bopping hip-hop section, wherein Rich DietZ spit hedonistic verses over a smooth beat, “Empire” builds into something more menacing. Ev...
