A former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Dr Obadiah Mailafia, says his life is in danger. Mailafia was reacting to the third invitation extended to him by the Department of State Services. The former CBN deputy governor, in a statement in Jos on Friday, described the latest DSS invitation as a political persecution and urged well-meaning people to pray for his safety. Don Jazzy denies being arrested by DSS
Nigerian music producer Michael Collins better known as Don Jazzy has reacted to news of his arrest by the DSS. Earlier, we reported that Don Jazzy was allegedly invited by the Department of State Service (DSS) over his remarks against the Federal Government on Twitter. It was reported by Sahara Reporters that Don Jazzy, as well as Tiwa Savage, were both at the DSS Lagos office for questioning. Following the news, Don Jazzy has come out to subtly dispel any news of his arrest by the DSS. He recently made a video where he asked ‘what is the meaning of quizzes’ subtly referring to Sahara Reporters headline announcing his invitation by the DSS. Group condemns Nnamdi Kanu for urging IPOB members to attack security operatives

The group, in a statement signed by its National President, Dr Edwin Ogbu, on Friday urged relevant authorities to take proactive action to avoid a breakdown in law and order. Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), in collaboration with the Department of State Services (DSS) and Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), has arrested twenty-five (25) officials of Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO), FRSC, Motor Vehicle Licensing Authority (MVLA), and other persons in connection with drivers’ license and vehicle particulars fraud in Lagos State. IPOB warns Nigerian government to stop harassment of members
The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, on Thursday, told the Federal Government to halt “the incessant harassment and arrest of its members and their families in South-East.” It also called on South-East and South-South governors, particularly Ebonyi State government, to prevail on the security agents in their states to release IPOB and their family members, particularly its Ebonyi State Coordinator, Mazi Igwe Ogbonnaya, without further delay. Nigerian government deregisters Ohanaeze, Arewa CF, others over security clearance
The Federal Government has deregistered frontline socio-cultural groups in Nigeria as the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has withdrawn the registration certificate of Ohanaeze Ndigbo General Assembly, the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), among others. Music producer Don Jazzy and singer Tiwa Savage have been cautioned against making social media comments against the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, after an invitation by the Department of State Security, DSS. Tiwa Savage earned the invitation after she ran a campaign, ‘WeAreTired’, in reaction to a rise in cases of rape in the country. She also made social media posts to draw the attention of the Buhari administration to the issue.
