Enlisting Norwegian singer-songwriter Ponette for a stunning vocal performance, DROELOE has added yet another genre-bending gem to his expansive discography. In the midst of a busy touring schedule across the U.S., DROELOE is reflecting on the concept of “flow stage” by way of his new single, “Holiday.” Out now via electronic music tastemaker label CloudKid, it’s a grungy and pensive indietronica track driven by fast-paced drum patterns and frenetic synths. “Holiday” seamlessly evolves into a chaotic display of DROELOE’s unique production style, which emits a youthful and carefree energy. Take a listen to the new track below. Scroll to Continue Recommended Articles “This song is about surrendering yourself to a form of flow state that’s a more ‘just doing not thi...
We’re tuned to expect specific sounds from our favorite artists. Go to an Excision show and you’re getting an abundance of ground-shaking bass and dubstep growls. Seeing Armin van Buuren entails a bright mix of progressive house and trance. But once in a while, major artists surprise us with stark deviations from their established sounds, like Dillon Francis trading his moombahton style for deep house or deadmau5 eschewing his signature electro flair in favor of obscure, pulsing techno under his TESTPILOT moniker. It’s rare to see an event dedicated to artists exploring their left-field tastes though—something Louis The Child hope to change with their latest event concept, “Alter-Ego,” a multi-stage takeover of the Brooklyn Mirage. “We wanted to create an event where artists ar...
Pairing immersive visual art with vibrant pieces of electronic music, DROELOE has long been an electronic music favorite. Earlier this year, he masterfully displayed his eclectic production style via his PILLARS /// EP, which marked a new start for the DROELOE project after the departure of his bandmate in 2020. Directly following the EP, which explored DROELOE’s change of perspective during times of uncertainty last year, he has now returned with a new single called “Aurora.” Wearing his experimental sensibilities on his sleeve, the song is his debut on the electronic tastemaker CloudKid. Representing the exhilarating feeling of a fresh start after overcoming hardships, “Aurora” ebbs and flows with the help of sparkly synths, complex rhythmic patterns a...

The Los Angeles bass community will finally get to experience the beautiful chaos that is a Deadbeats show. In early April Zeds Dead announced they would be taking their beloved label on a new coast-to-coast run across the United States, aptly titled “Deadbeats: The Revival” tour. After over a year of no live events, the duo is ready to bring the gang out in full-production fashion with 13 shows slated to begin in September. One of those stops includes a night at LA’s Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall, marking the first time a Deadbeats event has ever been held in the City of Angels. DROELOE, MUST DIE!, DNMO, and Kumarion have all been tapped to join the iconic Deadbeats label heads at the famed venue on October 2nd, 2021. “We can’t ...
The anthology album is Hein Hamers’ final release as a member of DROELOE. Late last month, DROELOE detailed through endearing letters to each other that founding member Hein Hamers would be departing the project after five years to pursue something new. However, the pair weren’t planning to let things end there, as they’ve released their phenomenal anthology album A Matter Of Perspective via bitbird. A Matter Of Perspective will be remembered as DROELOE’s most complex and refined work as a duo. Not only have they written seven new tunes for fans to relish, but they’ve compiled their previous three EPs into one comprehensive album. Their unmistakable, joyful-yet-melancholic sound spearheads the endeavor, making the album feel like a goodbye...
DROELOE, the duo behind many of the bitbird imprint’s biggest hits, has announced they are splitting up. Vincent Rooijers and Hein Hamers posted heartfelt letters to each other on social media today, detailing their intent to go separate ways and what’s next for each of them. In their statements, Hamers announced he will be moving on to create a separate project while Rooijers will continue to helm the DROELOE project. “In these five years, both Vince and I have grown so much. To look back at the beginning of DROELOE and to see what it has become makes me feel grateful to be a part of this journey,” Hamers wrote. “But as we grow it’s hard for two minds to stay on the same page. That’s something that in the last year has become clea...
