Source: Chip Somodevilla / Getty Donald Trump isn’t going to like this bit of surprise news. Joe Biden’s Town Hall over on ABC beat out the President’s Town Hall over on MSNBC, per early results. Considering the slow-moving train wreck that is all things Donald Trump, more eyes tuning in to the former Vice President seems like evidence of Cheeto fatigue. Reports The Wrap: On ABC, Biden drew 12.7 million viewers from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. On NBC alone, Trump got 10.4 million viewers in the same time slot. Including the full 9 o’clock hour for Biden, the ABC event’s viewership average was 12.2 million. Biden also beat Trump among adults 18-49, with a 2.6 rating to the president’s 1.7 rating. The numbers aren’t final due to a myriad of reasons. One in particular is that Trump’s was also simulcast ...
Source: WENN/Avalon / WENN Ice Cube made waves after he met with President Donald Trump to help advise the direction of the “Platinum Plan,” a proposed set of policies geared towards Black Americans. Cube, who has a series of plans himself he introduced to Trump, clarified via Twitter why he met with the former business mogul. “lack progress is a bipartisan issue. When we created the Contract With Black America we excepted to talk to both sides of the isle. Talking truth to power is part of the process,” Cube tweeted on Thursday (Oct. 15). In response to a Washington Post highlighting a story that “ce Cube once rapped about arresting Trump. Now he’s advising the president on policy plans,” he fired back with a quote retweet of his own. “I will advise anybody on the planet who has the power...
Ice Cube, who once famously shouted “Fuck Tha Police” as a member of N.W.A., is currently working with the Trump Administration to develop a proposed “Platinum Plan” for the Black community in America. The news first broke early on October 14th when Trump senior advisor Katrina Pierson tweeted, “Shoutout to @icecube for his willingness to step up and work with @realDonaldTrump Administration to help develop the #PlatinumPlan. Leaders gonna lead, haters gonna hate. Thank you for leading!” According to Ice Cube’s representative (Rolling Stone), the rapper was interested in meeting with both the Trump and Biden campaigns to discuss an “agenda for black Americans” and support for his Contract With Black America, which “strikes at the heart of racism and presents a blueprint to achiev...
Source: TIMOTHY A. CLARY / Getty Jimmy Kimmel is back on Donald Trump’s neck, this time for his outlandish declarations about Black people at the voting booths. On Monday(Oct 12), the late-night host opened his segment discussing the struggle event attended by Black people paid by Candace Owens’ Blexit organization at the White House over the weekend. During his 18-minute speech, the COVID-In-Chief boasted that he’s “done more for the Black community than any president since Abraham Lincoln.” The outlandish comment jogged Kimmel’s memory bank to four years ago when Trump promised to secure 95 percent of the Black vote by 2020. With the election weeks away, the comedian took to the streets and surveyed Black passersby if Cheeto made good on his word. As expecte...
Source: The Washington Post / Getty Candace Owens is an enemy of her own people. It turns out some of the Black people who attended Donald Trump’s speech at the White House yesterday (Oct. 10) were paid to attend via her Blexit organization. Trump begins his first post-coronavirus diagnosis speech by telling his adoring fans at the White House, “we gotta vote these people into oblivion. Into oblivion. Gotta get rid of ’em. So bad for our country.” pic.twitter.com/RtH7O8jYY7 — Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) October 10, 2020 There are so many levels to this struggle, but let’s point to the fact that more Black people disproportionately suffer and die from COVID-19, yet this who Owens trotted out in front of Mango Mussolini. Fortunately, only 400 of the reportedly 2000 attendees act...
John Lydon, a.k.a. Johnny Rotten, photo by Amanda Koellner In case his T-shirt didn’t give it away, former Sex Pistols frontman Johnny Rotten, a.k.a. John Lydon, will support Donald Trump in the upcoming US presidential election. In a wide-ranging interview with The Observer, Lydon said he’d “be daft as a brush not to” support Trump, adding, “He’s the only sensible choice now that [Joe] Biden is up – he’s incapable of being the man at the helm.” He cited Trump’s handling as the economy, and said he also sympathizes with Trump over being labeled as a racist. “I’ve been accused of the very same thing, so I’m offended for anybody who’s called that.” (In 2008, Bloc Party frontman Kele Okereke accused Lydon of an “unprovoked racist attack” that resulted in Okereke suffering severe fac...
Exactly one week ago today, Donald Trump was hospitalized after testing positive for COVID-19. After being shot up with steroids and other experimental drugs, Trump claims to have made a complete and full recovery, and is ready to return to the campaign trail as soon as this weekend. Most health experts are rightfully skeptical. As Kavita K. Patel, an internal medicine physical at Mary’s Center in Washington, DC, wrote in the Washington Post, the “typical length of stays for COVID-19 patients who are treated the way Trump was can approach weeks.” At various points over the course of his hospitalization, Trump was given supplemental oxygen, heavy steroids, and a cocktail of experimental drugs that is not available to anyone outside of clinical trials. The more practical scenario is that Tru...
Source: Miami Herald / Getty Years after Hurricane Maria devastated the island of Puerto Rico and Donald Trump insulted it’s residents by jump shooting them rolls of paper towels and blaming them for throwing the US budget “out of wack,” the island’s governor, Wanda Vázquez has decided to let Donald Trump know where she stands… by endorsing him for President of The United States. That’s right. Much to the chagrin of Puerto Ricans and Latinos everywhere, Politico is reporting that Governor Wanda Vázquez asked Boricuas everywhere (especially in the battleground that Florida has become) to go out and vote for the man who illegally withheld hurricane aid to Puerto Rico for months. “I ask all the Puerto Ricans who are listening to me to go vote… and evaluate who has represented themse...
Source: Handout / Getty As the presidential election sits just 27 days out, the campaigns for President Donald Trump and his Democratic Party rival Joe Biden are entering a relentless push to the home stretch. Biden’s team rolled out a new video featuring Former First Lady Michelle Obama, where she framed some of the actions from Trump as racist. In a 24-minute video, Obama offers her reasonings on why Americans should cast their ballot for Biden, citing Trump’s record on race relations, drumming up fear in his base, and ignoring the truths regarding white privilege. “Think about it. You’ve worked hard all your life, and for too long, you’ve watched the rich get richer. You’ve seen your beloved towns shattered by joblessness, and it’s frustrating to hear some folks say that you’ve been the...
Donald Trump knows firsthand what it’s like to have COVID-19, and he also knows what it’s like to have the best medical treatment immediately available. Yet, less than a day after being released from the Walter Reed Medical Center, Trump posted messages to social media downplaying the severity of coronavirus. Facebook responded by taking down the post, while Twitter flagged it with a warning label, reports Mashable. Trump’s post to social media on Tuesday morning seemed completely unbothered by the ongoing pandemic. “Flu season is coming up!” it read. “Many people every year, sometimes over 100,000, and despite the Vaccine, die from the Flu. Are we going to close down our Country? No, we have learned to live with it, just like we are learning to live with Covid, in most populations fa...
Nick Cordero and Amanda Kloots (photo via Instagram/@amandakloots); Fiona Whelan Prine and John Prine (photo via Instagram/@fprine); and Donald Trump If anything good were to come from Donald Trump contracting COVID-19, it would have been a change in messaging from the White House. Instead — and completely unsurprisingly — he’s still downplaying the pandemic in complete defiance of reality. Now, the widows of two prominent individuals who have died from COVID-19 are slamming Trump for his callous tweets about the dangers of the disease. Shortly before being discharged from Walter Reed on Monday after just a two-day stay, Trump tweeted, “Don’t be afraid of Covid. Don’t let it dominate your life. We have developed, under the Trump Administration, some really great drugs & knowledge. I fe...
