The Rivers State Police Command has appealed to Governor Nyesom Wike not to lift the night time curfew imposed in the wake of attacks on security formations and operatives in the state. Spokesman of the State Police Command, Nnamdi Omoni, made the appeal during a chat with newsmen in Port Harcourt, the state capital. Omoni said the curfew has helped the police and other security agencies respond timely to distress calls, adding that security threats have reduced in the state since the curfew was imposed over a fortnight ago. “The curfew was imposed essentially to arrest the trend of attacks on police. Police: No invasion of miscreants into Ekiti

The Ekiti State Police Command has described as untrue the reports that miscreants have invaded Ado Ekiti, the state capital. The state’s Commissioner of Police, Tunde Mobayo, who disclosed that the information was false, said it was intended to disturb the peaceful atmosphere of the town. A video had circulated online on Friday that some Fulani-Hausa men were found around Agric Olope Housing Estate, in Ado Ekiti, in possession of dangerous weapons including AK-47 rifles with the intention to unleash terror on the community. Police arrest 10, recover firearms, ammunition in Enugu

The Police Command in Enugu says operatives attached to `Operation Restore Peace’ have arrested 10 criminal suspects for alleged kidnapping, armed robbery, unlawful possession of firearm and fighting in the state. The operatives recovered two firearms, four live ammunition of .9mm calibre, one expended cartridge, two vehicles, one tricycle, one machete and other incriminating items. The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command said it has commenced an investigation into the murder of one Miss Blessing Otula. Otula, a former student of the University of Abuja, was murdered by her assailants who dumped her body inside the gutter along the Iddo Village axis of the FCT. Police arrest suspects over murders in Osun

The Police Command in Osun on Friday, said it has arrested five suspected hoodlums who allegedly attacked a residence in Ede and killied two persons. A statement by the State Police spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, said that about 30 hoodlums at 5:30p.m. on Thursday, attacked the residence of Wakili Olayiwola in Ede, Osun, shooting sporadically into the house before setting a car ablaze. According to the statement, “the hoodlums allegedly shot bullets into the house of Wakili, set his car ablaze and also made attempt to burn down his house before the police came to the rescue”. Five suspected gunmen have been arrested after they launched an attack on a residence around Arulogun area of Ede in Osun State where they killed two persons. It was gathered about 30 gunmen invaded the Arulogun area to attack a house that belongs to Wakili Olayiwola around 5:00am last Thursday. They were said to have rained bullets on the residence. Police nab ‘murderer’ of vigilante member in Delta

The Police Command in Delta says it has apprehended a middle-aged man over alleged murder of a member of a vigilante group in the state. The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command, DSP Edafe Bright, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday in Warri.
