We’ve whittled it down to 9 key items that reliably look great with any and all jeans in spring while also elevating them beyond the average ‘jeans and T-shirt‘ casual affair. We’re talking smart, oversized blazers for a ’90s vibe, crisp shirts à la Kendall Jenner, French girl-inspired tweed jackets and, of course, some breton stripes. They’re all, as you’ll see, really easy items, but pair them with your go to straight-legs, skinnies, flares or wide-legs and you’ve got some instant expensive-looking outfits you can turn to again and again this season. Hopefully the looks and key buys below will inspire you to either rediscover these pieces in your own wardrobes for spring or figure out ...
Honestly, if they hadn’t had any labels in, I would have believed they were designer. The visible buttons and washed out look makes them feel like a really good pair of vintage Levi’s, but they have the M&S comfort factor too. Of course, after trying them for research purposes I was sure to buy my own pair (as did most of the WWWUK team) and since then I’ve barely taken them off. They come in three different washes and all look great with a classic trainer, chunky boot, loafers and even heels— with a white-T-shirt and blazer or some classic stripes on top. Unfortunately, I wasn’t the only one to cotton on to how great this style was and they sold out almost instantly a few weeks ago. Luckily, though, they’ve just been restocked online so move fast if you’re after a...
As far as shopping experiences go, finding a great pair of jeans on the high street used to be tough (IRL or online, TBH). But over the past few years, there’s been an influx of affordable styles, lengths and shapes that suit every body shape. It’s no longer good enough that “cheap” jeans should feel cheap, so gone are the days of ill-fitting, saggy pairs made of fabric that quickly wears away. Seeing as I only have one body (and different figures suit different jeans), I decided to put the question to our Facebook group So… Should I Buy This? on the jeans the members rate on the high street right now. There were some brands that were mentioned several times, and while I wouldn’t say there were any surprises, it’s clear that jeans have a l...

This year I decided I want to wear what I own more often. It may sound silly, because of course we wear our own clothes, but what I mean is I feel as though I’ve neglected some of my much-loved pieces over the past couple of years. So with this in mind, I had a try-it-on session at home, digging out some of my trusty favourites. While some gems were found (hello, vintage Dior jacket I had forgotten about), when it came to denim, I realised my initial plan failed. My favourite H&M jeans I wore on heavy rotation throughout 2018 and 2019 split (literally) at the seams when I tried to put them on. And the rest of my denim collection didn’t quite make me feel good anymore. And there’s nothing worse than ill-fitting, tight denim to put a dampener on how you feel about an outfit. S...
As much as we’d like to jump straight in to bare-leg weather, the forecast is still looking somewhat chilly—brighter, yes, but still not quite warm enough to go out sans coat. However, as we prepare for spring’s load-awaited approach, instead of prematurely defaulting to floaty dresses and slip skirts, we’ll be building our looks around jeans—for there is no item more up to the challenge of swiftly transitioning you into the new season. After all, jeans are timeless, easy to style, comfortable, and the outfit options are endless, making them the perfect day-to-day throw-on. However, if you feel like your denim ensembles are becoming a tad repetitive, we’re here to help break you out of your rut. We’ve found seven perfect casual outfits...
Fashion editors love their little style secrets, but due to the nature of our jobs, we’re not very good at keeping them. Case in point: Over the last few years, I’ve heard multiple times on the grapevine that high-street stalwart Marks & Spencer is actually a gold mine of premium-feel and (most importantly) well-fitting denim. Indeed, the brand has just dropped an even more comprehensive edit of silhouettes that would tempt even the most denim-phobic individual. Despite its relative newness on the high street, & Other Stories has quickly established itself as a go-to for enviable denim silhouettes. From its Kate Middleton–approved Favourite Cut to fashion editors’ highly treasured Keeper Cut, the brand has a pair of jeans for every occasion. For many of us, jeans are one of the most used items of clothing in our wardrobes, so it’s important to keep finding new ways to wear our old faithfuls. Luckily, & Other Stories has plenty of inspo to offer in this department, too. You Deserve to Make Money Even When you are looking for Dates Online. So we reimagined what a dating should be. While we might scour multiple stores in search of the perfect winter coat or pledge our allegiance to a number of different It-bag brands, when it comes to jeans, we tend to couple up for life. Despite the fact that no one likes shopping for them (how do they manage to spark insecurity like no other item of clothing?), it’s worth the hunt, as once you’ve found The One, there’s no turning back. The holy grail of good jeans lies somewhere in the middle of a Venn diagram covering fit, silhouette, comfort and, inevitably, cost. Recognising the needs of the masses by creating fashion-forward fits (especially for jeans) in technical, figure-flattering fabrics has only been achieved by a handful of brands. It’s rare to tick all the boxes, however, when it comes to the...
Okay, I admit it. When it comes to buying denim these days, I’m a bit of a snob. I spent my early 20s trying every high-street style I could find, going through God knows how many pairs of Topshop Jonis and Jamies. Once I hit my 30s, I gave up and started investing in fewer, more considered (read: expensive) pairs, hoping this was the solution to finding the holy grail of perfect jeans. I’ve definitely found a few really great go-tos, but like all of us, I’m still constantly on the lookout for a better pair. And while I presumed my high-street denim days were behind me, it was a recent Who What Wear team Slack discussion around everyone’s favourite jeans that had me reluctantly reconsidering. The verdict was that Marks and Spencer jeans are ...
At this time of year jeans and boots are basically all I wear, and so getting dressed can be a bit like putting on a uniform. It’s a practical and low-effort choice which is why it’s ideal for January, but these outfits can quickly become a little stale. So in search of some new styling ideas I spent some time looking at pictures of my favourite celebrities and came up with 5 easy-to-copy denim outfits I plan on adding to my rotation in 2022. One thing was clear when looking at my shortlist of images, baggier and looser denim styles are dominating right now, as not one outfit included a skinnier fit. These looks in fact all play with proportions, whether that’s by adding a boxy blazer, an oversized leather bomber, baggy shirt or a maxi coat. You can even go big with the shoes too, wi...
The next big non–skinny jeans trend is here, and it couldn’t be chicer. While skinny jeans will truly never die, nor do we want them to, we’ve spotted a number of emerging denim trends that are pretty much the antithesis of skinnies. We’ve already mentioned how flares and loose jeans are on the rise, and, well, we’re adding another of these non-skinny styles to the top of our lists: high-rise wide-leg jeans. These are full-length jeans with a trouser-like wide leg and a high rise. We know that wide-leg jeans can be intimidating if you’re not used to wearing them already, which is why the high rise is crucial here. It hugs you in all the right places and creates some nice dimension for the overall silhouette. Some of the stand...
