19-Year-Old Woman Dies After Collapsing at Scotland’s Terminal V Festival: Report

Maya Nager, 19, has died after collapsing at Scotland’s Terminal V electronic music festival, Edinburgh Live reports. Nager’s cause of death has not yet been confirmed, but local reports state she “ingested a substance” hours before the event. She eventually collapsed on the festival’s grounds and was rushed to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment.  Nager was pronounced dead on Monday morning. Migos Rapper Takeoff Shot Dead at 28: Report

Chart-topping rapper Takeoff, of the hip-hop trio Migos, was shot and killed overnight at a Houston bowling alley, The Associated Press reports. He was 28. A representative of the group confirmed the artist’s death. Police responded to reports of a shooting at 810 Billiards & Bowling shortly after 2:30am before finding one man with a “gunshot wound to the head or neck,” according to local reports. Investigators said they discovered multiple shell casings on the third level outside the bowling and pool hall. Takeoff was pronounced dead at the scene. Beloved Scottish DJ, dance music producer and Ibiza regular Jamie Roy tragically passed away last week, but his music continues to live on. In the wake of his death, Roy’s friends, label mates and fans launched a campaign to push his track, “Organ Belta,” up the Beatport charts. The song, which was released through Patrick Topping‘s Trick label in September 2021, ultimately topped the site’s House charts. Police Launch Investigation Following Suspected Overdose Death at Nocturnal Wonderland: Report

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department has launched an overdose investigation following a man’s death at the 2022 Nocturnal Wonderland music festival, CBS Los Angeles reports. Eli Gillespie-Rodriguez, 27, was found dead at Glen Helen Regional Park, where he was camping for the electronic dance music festival over the weekend.  Gillespie-Rodriguez is said to have entered a tent with friends to smoke marijuana. According to CBS LA, he died “moments later” and was “left alone by the other people inside of the tent.” Police responding to the incident transported Gillespie-Rodriguez to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. David Andersson, who had been Soilwork’s guitarist for the past 10 years, sadly died at age 47. In a statement, the Swedish metal band cited “alcohol and mental illness” as factors that led to his passing. Soilwork have been around for a quarter century, with Andersson joining the band in 2012. He appeared on their last four albums, including their latest, Övergivenheten, which just came out last month. Police Report 16 Arrests, 1 Death at Burning Man 2022

Despite some crappy things that went down at this year’s Burning Man, police are reporting one of the tamest years in the event’s history in terms of its criminal activity. The Pershing County Sheriff’s Office, which works with the U.S. Bureau of Land Management to ensure the safety of Burning Man’s attendees, reported just 16 arrests. That’s down from 58 arrests at last year’s iteration. According to SFGATE, charges included battery of substantial bodily harm, domestic battery, possession of controlled substance, obstructing of a police officer, possession of paraphernalia and sales of controlled substance, among others. Steve Grimmett, the longtime singer of UK metal band Grim Reaper, has died at the age of 62. The sad news was reported on social media by both his brother and his son, with no cause of death reported as of yet. A man was killed after high winds caused a partial collapse of the main stage at Spain’s Medusa Festival, Reuters reports. At least 32 others were injured in the wake of the fatal incident at the electronic dance music festival, which took place on the Playa de Cullera on the Balearic Sea. National weather agency AEMET said there had been “strong gusts of wind and a sudden rise in temperatures” during the festival, reporting gusts of 51 miles per hour at the nearby Alicante airport. Woman Falls to Her Death at Kenny Chesney Concert

A woman fell from an escalator to her death at the end of a July 30th Kenny Chesney concert in Denver, The Denver Post reports. Chesney was performing at Empower Field at Mile High when a woman who was sitting on the railing of an escalator fell to the concourse below and died of her injuries, Denver police said. The incident happened at about 10:52 p.m local time. Police spokesman Nate Magee said the woman’s death was being investigated as an accident.
