Maury Ending After 30 Seasons

Maury, you are… not coming back next season. NBCUniversal announced earlier this week that the long-running talk show will end at the conclusion of its current, 30th season. Hosted by Maury Povitch, now 83, the show first began airing in 1991 as The Maury Povitch Show before shortening its name to the now-classic Maury seven years later. Joining the packed talk show landscape of the ’90s, the series stood out from — and outlasted — competitors like Jerry Springer, The Jenny Jones Show, and The Ricki Lake Show by becoming famous for its on-air paternity reveals. “[Episodes] touch so many classic themes, whether it’s love, distrust, conflict, drama,” the host once explained in a 2012 interview with The Chicago Tribune. “And the paternity shows in particular, you’ve got he-said, she-said, is-...

Sharon Osbourne Exits The Talk Following On-Air Blowup and Allegations by Former Co-Hosts

Sharon Osbourne will no longer be doing any talking on CBS’ daytime show The Talk. The long-running program’s last remaining founding co-host is exiting the show after a tumultuous two weeks that included a heated exchange with co-host Sheryl Underwood and multiple allegations by former colleagues. The Talk is currently on hiatus as a result of the March 10th on-air dustup between Osbourne and Underwood. It all started when Osbourne tweeted support for UK television personality Piers Morgan, who was lambasted for comments he made about Meghan Markle following her tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey. Morgan questioned the authenticity of Markle’s statements about having suicidal thoughts and experiencing racism within the royal family. Underwood asked Osbourne, “What would you say to peop...

Sharon Osbourne Allegedly Used Offensive Asian and Homophobic Slurs in the Past: Report

Sharon Osbourne’s daytime TV show The Talk is currently under internal review by CBS due to a heated conversation she had with co-host Sheryl Underwood. Now, new allegations against Osbourne have emerged in a report from investigative journalist Yashar Ali, who cites former Talk co-host Leah Remini among his sources. Last week, Osbourne defended UK TV host Piers Morgan, who said he didn’t believe Meghan Markle after her tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, in which Markle said she experienced racism with the royal family and even contemplated suicide. Some had suggested that Morgan’s comments were racist, but Osbourne tweeted, “@piersmorgan, I am with you. I stand by you. People forget that you’re paid for your opinion and that you’re just speaking your truth.” That led to an emotional e...
