David Letterman took the stage for a Netflix Is a Joke Festival event Friday (May 7) and appeared to respond to the recent attack on Dave Chappelle at the Hollywood Bowl. David Letterman’s Netflix Series Returns with Will Smith, Billie Eilish, and More
The guests have been revealed for Season 4 of David Letterman’s Netflix talk show My Next Guest Needs No Introduction and they include Will Smith, Billie Eilish, Cardi B, and more. The new episodes debut on Friday, May 20th. The fourth season of the former Late Show host’s longform interview series returns with six episodes rounded out by Kevin Durant, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Ryan Reynolds. There’s no word yet on whether the series will return to its audience-oriented format, which was adjusted to location shoots in the middle of Season 3’s production due to the onset of the pandemic. R.I.P. Alan Kalter, David Letterman’s Longtime Announcer Dead at 78
Alan Kalter, the longtime announcer of Late Show with David Letterman, has died at the age of 78. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kalter passed away Monday (October 4th) at Stamford Hospital in Connecticut. A cause of death was not immediately made available. Kalter served as the Late Show announcer for 20 years between 1995 and 2015. In addition to announcing each night’s guests during the show’s opening, Kalter frequently appeared in sketches — much to the delight of Letterman. One reoccurring bit saw Kalter concurrently host his own talk show, Alan Kalter’s Celebrity Interview, off to the side of the stage.
