House of Reps suspends President Buhari’s scheduled appearance

The House of Representatives on Wednesday suspended its earlier plan for a briefing by President Muhammadu Buhari, after it became clear the president would no longer honour the House’s invitation. At plenary Wednesday, the House failed to mention an item on its order paper to admit Mr Buhari into the House chamber. It was the clearest evidence Mr Buhari, who was billed to explain the terrible security situation in the country to lawmakers, had cancelled the plan, confirming a report he would back off. Napoli stadium officially renamed ‘Stadio Diego Armando Maradona’

After city mayor Luigi De Magistris initially suggested the name change last week, the city of Naples has officially approved the proposal to rename the Napoli stadium in honor of Diego Maradona. As announced in an official statement this afternoon, the stadium based in the neighbourhood of Fuorigrotta in the west end of the city will formally change its name from the ‘Stadio San Paolo’ to ‘Stadio Diego Armando Maradona’. Senate threatens labour ministers over absence at hearing

The Senate Committee on Local Content has threatened to sanction the Ministers of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige and Festus Keyamo, over their failure to appear at an investigative hearing on diving operations in the oil and gas industry. It also threatened to sanction the managing directors of international oil companies (IOCs) in Nigeria for the same reason. The IOCs MDs include ExxonMobil, Total and Chevron. Post-UTME: UNIBEN promises to comply with coronavirus protocols

The University of Benin (UNIBEN) says it is ready to comply with the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) protocols on Coronavirus (COVID-19), ahead of its Post University Tertiary Matriculation Examination (Post–UTME) scheduled for Dec. 2. Dr Benedicta Ehanire, Public Relations Officer of the university, disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday in Benin.
